Nestled within the rugged embrace of towering peaks, dense forests of evergreens, their needles a deep emerald green, carpet the slopes, creating a stark contrast against the snow-capped summits that pierce the sky. The air is crisp and invigorating, carrying the earthy scent of pine and the faint whisper of icy winds that sweep through the valleys. In this cold climate, the landscape is often draped in a serene blanket of snow, lending a tranquil, almost ethereal quality to the surroundings. This pristine wilderness, with its majestic vistas and serene stillness, offers a profound sense of peace and an invitation to explore its hidden wonders. The bleating of a goat echoed among the peaks as a predatory bird soared far overhead, it’s watchful eyes watching the terrain, seeking it’s next meal.
Until a black and red blur zipped passed right in front of the bird, causing it to emit an unflattering shriek and rear back in shock and blowing loose feathers all over. The speeding figure looked back and shouted, “Sorry!” But they where moving so fast they where already gone before their voice reached the bird.
Liek Galswith pivoted and weaved through the air, pushing his speed to the limits, ducking into the canyons and valleys while maintaining speeds well beyond the sound barrier, straining his control over his ki and body.
His encounter with Zaks continued to play through his mind. The massive gap in power between himself and the giant woman didn’t sit well on his shoulders. When it had just been his Grandmother the power difference didn’t bother him, it was just something he expected. But he was the Inheritor of the Fury, the last living person to know anything of them, of the kind of people they where or their martial art, of their code and honour. Being weaker meant the Fury where inferior. If they where inferior no one would want to learn more about them.
It may not have made sense to anyone else, but to Liek it did.
So he’d been training more and more, while also exploring new regions of the world. That said he hadn’t pushed too deep into the North, taking pains to avoid the glacial region, knowing full well the ruins of the Crucible where located out there. And he just wasn’t ready to start digging into that piece of history just yet, but maybe some time soon.
Channelling his energy he decided to add something new to his routine, something he wanted to try but hadn’t been far enough from civilisation to try until now. He formed the energy into a large sphere, charged with enough energy to level on of the mountains and launched it at the ground. After a moment he accelerated explosively, leaving a sonic shockwave in his wake as he rocketed past his own energy ball. He then spun and smacked the ball with the back of his hand, sending it flying off in a horizontal arc before chasing after it again. He repeated this again and again, racing to and fro at super sonic speeds while knocking the deadly sphere of energy back and forth through the sky. It only took a few dozen repetitions for him to start to sweat and feel the strain, his muscles burning from the exertion and his slightly losing focus from having to keep concentration from moving so many times so quickly in such a short time. Deciding he’d had enough the young man spun and kicked the energy ball one last time, sending it hurtling into space.

Opherla rushed over the Northern Mountains with the wind in her hair and her mind focused on one set goal in her mind she needed to accomplish. She needed to get stronger because a tournament was coming up. And because that tournament was coming up, Opherla had to be sure she was ready in all manners of her form and combative capabilities. As such, she was training up in the Northern Mountains, honing her abilities and skills at extreme conditions so she could be prepared for all kinds of combat. The limited air thanks to being higher up in the atmosphere meant she was basically training as if someone was choking her 24/7. The cold environments meant she could train as if battling a foe with the power to try and freeze her on the spot. The rocky terrain beneath allowed her to train if the opponent tried to shift the ground under her feet to get an advantage. And the snow around her, whipping up by the wind, was enough for Opherla to act as if she was dodging bullets or ki blasts. This was an environment she hadn't got to train in before, but she loved it all the same! She enjoyed this thrill of the training that she was now undergoing!
However, as she trained, she couldn't help but feel memories of the past begin to creep back into her mind. One such memory being the night she looked up at a full moon while waiting for the squad to return from a mission they went on with her and Zaks. She wouldn't ever forget it... the blutz waves that she felt coursing through her that night... she couldn't mistake it. Zaks had to avoid looking at the moon because she knew what would happen if she did, and Opherla... Opherla didn't take that advice herself... it was all so fresh... mainly because she still had a fraction of her conscience when she had turned that night...
"Opherla! Calm down, stop looking at the moon!"Zaks' panicked voice exclaimed as she did her best to look away from it while Opherla began to hulk up and change before her mother's eyes, transforming into her own variant of the true beast that lived inside all of the Saiyans... except it wasn't an Oozaru form... it was a form.... of an Okami.
"Mom... it hurts! IT HURTS... It... huuuurrrrrrrRRRRRR.... RRRRRGH... HRR... A... AWRRR.... AWWWRROOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" The shrill howl of Opherla's transformation echoed through the night as the squad returned just in time.
"...The child... truly has her own form of an Oozaru! Zaks, what the hell!?" Bracchus shouted as he rushed to the scene with his squad.
"I tried! Just get her to calm down, and blast the moon to bits while you're at it! Brace yourselves for one hell of a fight, this won't be easy!" Zaks warned her former squad as one of them took the time to blast the moon apart as Zaks had commanded, as they closed in on Opherla, attacking her from all sides while her fury still remained, as instead of an instant fade, it was a long lasting fade that didn't go away immediately like most Oozaru forms did. The raging Okami that was now Opherla easily knocked down the squad that Zaks served with not long ago, as they were all knocked out of harm's way, before Opherla set her eyes on Zaks and charged, snarling and roaring as.she rushed for her mother to attack and rip into her.
"...Opherla! STOP!" Zaks begged as she threw her guard up... as on command, Opherla suddenly stopped, as Zaks, bracing for the worst, looked up, as she soon saw a panting giant feminine werewolf, looking down at her... with eyes no longer red... but golden. Back to Opherla's natural eye color as she shed tears looking down at her mother.
"Mom... I... I... I'm so sorry, I... Grrh... hrrh.... Urrh.... Uuuunh..." Opherla would suddenly shrink back down to her normal size, thankfully still clothed as she collapsed forward, about to hit the ground when Zaks caught her as Zaks stroked her hair, panting and kissing Opherla's forehead, just thankful she was alright before her squad shook off the damage and walked up to her, as Bracchus folded his arms and let out a small chuckle.
"You were right after all. That kid does show promise, Lucetia. If she can turn into an Oozaru or... whatever the hell that was... Maybe she somehow still qualifies to be a Saiyan of Legend herself one day. You should take pride in that." Bracchus smirked.
"I don't expect your praise. Last week you were ridiculing her over a minor mistake and now you're praising her because she truly is like us. Don't play that bipolar card with me." Zaks snapped at Bracchus who gave her a firm "Hrmph" before they got into their pods to go back to Vegeta.
Opherla gasped as her mind snapped back to reality, as she remembered that night well... she still regretted it to her core that she even charged at her mother with lethal intentions in mind. But regardless of that, it wasn't going to come in between Opherla and her training... In fact, now that she thought about it, now was an absolutely great time to get that beast under control! Before the next full moon rose in the night sky! Taking herself and sitting upon a peak, Opherla began to focus on the tips her mother taught her on taming that sort of beast that resides within her. Taking a deep breath, she entered into herself... and found the core of the beast. The internal struggle was a fierce one as Opherla fought herself, sanity against feralness, to control the rage inside of her. Zaks' teachings passed off to her well enough though, as she was able to quickly dispose of that internal beast. It was hers to control, and she wouldn't let it control her.
It was at that point her senses flared as she watched a ki blast meant to soar into space soaring right at her as her eyes opened wide, as she got up, and brought out her blade, as it sparked with newfound energy of her resolve to tame the beast, her eyes focused on the attack as she would roar into the heavens.
"LYCANSHOTO ARTS... OKAMI.... PARRY!"
After that powerful declaration, Opherla swung her blade forth, sending the blast sparking in an incredibly unstable manner, before it exploded in a brilliant red light in the sky, giving away the fact that Opherla was training up higher, before she focused her senses around the place, before finding someone lower, likely the source of the energy blast considering their power levels were similar in current stature, as she sheathed one of her dual blades and quickly flew herself down to the man that was the source of the blast, as she landed with a hard thud, before she drew her blades.
"What's the big idea chucking balls of energy wherever you want to in the sky, huh? I just about got hit, and would have had I not sensed the attack that was coming. Just who do you think you are, bud?" Opherla asked in a slightly annoyed tone as she twirled the blade in her left hand around as she spoke. One thing she had to admit as she looked at the man before her, he was kinda cute and handsome wrapped up in one package, but she couldn't condone him just launching ball of energy wherever he wanted to. People trained on these mountains, and even if he thought that was going to space? Yeah, it had a fat chance making it there with all the higher mountains around here as she looked disapprovingly at the man before her, named Liek Galswith, as she was likely soon to find out.

These mountains where so remote and isolated that in all honesty the young man hadn’t expected to encounter anyone else so far off the beaten path. Other then wildlife that the young man had, mostly, attempted to not disturb too badly, he had thought he was pretty much entirely on his own and free to cut lose mostly freely. Obviously aiming at the ground was off limits, since he didn’t want to cause ecological damage, or cause the extinction of some undiscovered animal or plant. He’d been so sure of that fact that he’d allowed his attention on his senses to lapse entirely.
As a result he hadn’t picked up on someone else being nearby, nor that he had booted his ball of energy in their direction until it was too late for even him to intercept! In the moment he realised his error a part of his mind made the note that he needed to get even faster! Fast enough to cross that distance in an instant!
And for that he needed at least two of three things. The easiest would be to just train his flight control to a level of precision and speed beyond what he already mastered. But the more reliable, but more difficult, path would be to perfect the Energy Cloud and Cloud Fold techniques. With those it wouldn’t be a matter of catching up, he’d be able to reach his destination instantly, thus being able to resolve any potential repeat of this problem just as quickly.
Thankfully the person noticed the ball headed their way and parried it away, much to Liek’s relief, earning a sigh from him. The person then spotted him and he groaned and thought, ‘Here comes the earful… great…’
Once the person got closer the hybrid got a better look at them, a young woman who could have been around his own age. She was very muscular, but not in a way that was bulky, but did make her muscles very clearly defined. Her face was gorgeous and he found it difficult to tear his eyes away, taking in her golden eyes and flowing red hair. The shape of the animalistic ears on her head and tail trailing behind her where also idly noted.
With Zaks and Carriaxa he hadn’t felt overwhelmed in the presence of a woman. While both where absolutely attractive they where both clearly older women and that didn’t really appeal to him all that much. Meaning that, while he was still a hormonal teenager they didn’t have much of an impact on him. Well, that and his Grandmother practically beat it into him to be wary of older women, since they know how to use their womanly charms to manipulate young men.
But this young woman looked to be closer in age to himself. So he couldn’t help but feel a little on edge. This caused him to retort with uncharacteristic defensiveness; “We’re in the ass end of nowhere! There is literally no one else around, so EXCUUUuuuuuUUUSE MEEE Princess, for using the opportunity to push my limits!”

Cocky little prick, this one was. Here he was seemingly not even concerned about the fact that there very well could have been SOMEONE else here and he acted like that was the LEAST of his concerns! This guy was striking nerves already, and Opherla's blood boiled because of it. If this guy was really that unempathetic to his surroundings then he was just as bad as the common thugs that roamed this planet. He might have been cute but that wasn't a focus for Opherla anymore, as she growled further upon hearing bis retort in full.
"Princess... PRINCESS, HUH?" Opherla snarled as her Saiyan blood began to boil as her Demon blood aligned with it as she gripped her swords tighter with a fury rising inside of her. This guy definitely had no clue what he was up against, otherwise he wouldn't be so brazen to act like this, now would he? He wanted to push his limits, huh? Is that what it was? Opherla could admire that if she wasn't so pissed off that this guy was INSENSITIVE to the fact that yes, they WERE in the middle of nowhere, which meant that a LOT of people who wanted to train could use this place for their private sessions with no one to intervene with them. That's why there were literal makeshit DOJOs up in these mountains! But oh, it's okay, cuz gotta push the limits, right? Pushing the limits means nothing else matters other than making sure I get stronger! Nah, that wasn't gonna fly. Confirming there was no dojos or people training nearby, Opherla bared her fangs as she chuckled darkly.
"You wanna push your limits, huh? That's all it's about? Then.... hehehehe.... Lemme help ya a bit, pal." Opherla smiled devilishly as she suddenly launched for Liek, landing a fierce knee to his abdomen to begin the battle as she sheathed her blades again for now. She'd try to beat him with her fists only for now as she dashed after the boy, as the attack would shove him away regardless if he blocked or dodged, or took the hit, as Opherla pursued after him at incredible speeds.
"Something you gotta learn, punk!" Opherla yelled at Liek as she kept pursuing him, walloping him more and more through the air as she gave chase with each blow ahe delivered. "My mother, Zaks, taught me that we should respect the land we've been given here even WHEN we want to push ourselves to our limits!" Opherla shouted as she kept pursuing and punching or kicking Liek to continue her assault. "That means, even if no one is around, YOU RESPECT THE AREA AROUND YOU!" Opherla yelled in anger as she would proceed to shoot Liek into the sky as she then slashed the air four times, forming a diamond formation of ki residual with her claw marks as she glared up at Liek. "And I'm about to show you what happens when you violate such sacred laws and defile this land with senseless limit pushing! Let this burn into your mind, and your entire body!"
Of course, Opherla wasn't aiming to kill. That was not her intention, but rather to send a message loud and clear enough that this young punk at least understood it even if he chose not to apologize, as she reeled her fist back, which lit up with ki, as her golden eyes locked on to the man, as did her diamond gateway she formed, as her ki erupted.
"EAT THIS! LYCANSHOTO ARTS... OKAMI.... GATEWAYYYYY!!!!"
With that powerful declaration, Opherla fired off her beam by punching into the space between her claw marks as a diamond beam shot up towards Liek at incredible speeds, screeching through the sky and lighting it up red as it made its way for the boy, as Opherla's eyes and senses focused on the attack and what Liek would do with it. A small part of her was curious what he'd decide to do in this point in time, but she was still more concerned about teaching this asshole a lesson, and she was in prime position to do just that however this would play out.

He really didn’t get why she was getting so upset. He had been perfectly mindful of the landscape when he punted the ki ball that last time. At the absolute worst it may have clipped the peak of a mountain or two, but what was two or three inches from the peak of a mountain anyway? He doubted it would even cause an avalanche!
In a way it was though, in the form of a raging wolfwoman.
He saw her attack coming the moment she started moving. She was powerful, that much was true, but her movements where sloppy and unrefined. There was no doubt from how she moved that her attacks where effective, but she had no real training behind them, there where wasted movements and obvious openings in her guard when moved. So her knee went wide. Not because her aim was off, but because the young man simply swept his hands across his body to touch her leg and use it as leverage to spin away from the attack, moving outside her guard. And leaving a film of Orgone crystals on her leg.
As she yelled she pursued with follow up attacks, but between Liek’s Rad-Fa Furiemshinken and her unrefined form she couldn’t land a blow. Then he registered something she said in surprise. This was the daughter that Zaks had been telling him about? Sure, she hadn’t said much, but she had been very keen on the two meeting. Man, what a pain. And now she was ranting about him no respecting the area around him? It was pretty clear this girl was far more untamed then her mother and less observant to boot. He’d been travelling at speeds few others could match even before knocking the ball around, and all without leaving a single mark on the landscape or disrupting the wildlife.
While her form was unrefined he had to admit that on closer inspection it was more refined then what Zaks had demonstrated. The older woman was more brutalistic, simple and direct. Her fighting form seemed to be built more around simple defeating the enemy without any kind of refinement to get rid of openings and wasted action. Opherla’s, as he already knew her name to be, had put in more effort, he could tell. It was still sloppy and wild, but the attempt could be seen.
Liek could respect that.
Didn’t stop him from detonating the crystals he’d left on her leg earlier right as she fired off her Okami Gateway. Despite that the beam flew true, flying directly towards him and causing him to… shatter like glass? As the shards exploded the young man sighed, “Kudos for trying to make your own style, I can respect that. I really do… but I’m not a brawler like you mother…” Suddenly two crystals zipped out of the air from above and below on a collision course! Only to then suddenly change direction and fire ki blasts at her sides as Liek raced in from in front to throw crystals in her face and explode them.
“It may work well on her, but I can see the flaws!” He noted, “Just like her, you aren’t formally trained!” He lashed out quickly with a series of punches, each focused more on pure speed rather then raw power, making them barely more then light touches more then real punches, but each left Orgone crystals behind which exploded shortly after forming.

The boy thought she was brutish and savage, but underlying her movements was a more strategic mannerism of the battle that Liek wasn't able to see just yet, as Opherla would let him have his fun for a little bit before she unleashed the true nature of her purpose behind her seemingly wild attacks. But for now, the manner at hand. She immediately noticed the crystalline structures forming on her leg, as she could sense the ki within them... the question wasn't what she thought they could do. She had a really good indication in the moment for what they should do. She made a mental note about them as she watched Liek evade her strikes. Good. She could actually use what her form was really meant for in this fight.
Getting to the point of her beam getting ready to be launched, she knew he'd be focusing on her beam instead of her. But based on his movements and his mannerisms, Opherla could immediately deduce that her baseless claims were indeed baseless as she smiled. She had done all that in a successful attempt to undermine who he truly was. She heard about him from Zaks, and how crafty he was... this was Liek. The man Zaks wanted her daughter to pick a few techniques up from. They would most definitely be useful if he was already offering so much to her, but for now, Opherla had to focus on her next plan of attack. She punched with her fist, and saw the film ready to detonate. Shifting her weight, an explosion occurred, but it kicked up incredible amounts of dust, and on his sensories he could likely sense she moved. Still, he had fired off the premise she wouldn't, and redirecting those crystals took time.
Opherla quickly looked at her leg as the crystals honed in. Good. Her small ki manipulation managed to keep those alive for a bit. Good. She dodged the ki blasts that were sent for her, before she saw him throw the crystals at her. She jumped, which made them target her leg, testing her theory as she used slight ki manipulation. And bingo. More crystals on her leg. Perfect. Now Opherla would have to maintain them while she fought Liek. As she smiled as he approached, her gaze much softer.
"Apologies, Liek. I mainly opened up like that to test you. My mother's no stranger to betrayals. And I had to make sure she could trust you. By your actions and demeanor, I see she was right about you... Liek Galswith." Opherla smiled before her stance shifted a bit as she watched his incoming fists.
She saw how quick they came in, along with the ki energy behind them that he had used to cause an explosive jolt through her leg that she was able to mitigate. She smirked, now understanding how Liek fought and was more than ready to exploit it as she evaded the blows, allowing the explosions to cause some sheen to form on her body parts, thanks to her ki manipulation keeping them on her body and stable for the most part as she kept evading before seeing her opening, when to most others, there wouldn't be one, as she smiled. "This... is how I truly fight, by the way." Opherla suddenly spoke as a warning.
Taking her hand and slightly deflecting his blow, she suddenly sped in, contacting the young man with a hefty elbow to the midsection. Despite their similar power levels, while Liek went for just contact, Opherla did the same, but her instincts caused her to instinctively put force behind the attack even as she was keeping up with Liek's speed now that she had shifted her stance to her advantage in the situation. She made sure Liek couldn't evade her as she put her leg to where he'd catch his leg on hers even if he tried to fly upwards, as the step also allowed her to reach in with a forearm strike, which caused the film on her forearm to explode on not just her, but Liek as well, using his own techniques against him as Opherla didn't stopped, as her flow allowed her to grapple Liek before he got away, spinning to his backside as she struck with her other forearm, causing another explosion that aided her with a power throw that would bounce Liek off the ground thanks to the force of the throw!
Opherla then flowed herself into a position above Liek as it flowed enough even him moving slightly still got him a stomp to the back to bounce him again with the non-crystallized leg as he was then uppercut higher into the air as Opherla immediately followed afterwards, soon lifting the most crystallized part of her body: Her left leg.
"Remember this? What goes around comes around!" Opherla smiled, as she heel kicked downwards, which caused a MASSIVE explosion due to her adding her own ki to the likely already volatile leg, blowing the both of them harshly backwards as while Liek slammed down, Opherla backflipped through the air, and landed down safely, brushing herself off as she smiled.
"Mom mentioned you were a cunning opponent. Sadly, your initial evaluation of me was off base. As was mine of yours, despite my intentions to see your true character. Opherla Luna is my full name, Mr. Galswith. Pleasure to make your acquaintance." Opherla would greet as she smiled brightly. "Now, shall we keep this going? Or would now be a better time to talk instead?" Opherla asked.

It would seem that Zaks had informed Opherla about him. Not unexpected given how she wanted the two to meet to discuss certain matters. But Fa Galswith had long ago drilled how to file away unnecessary information during a fight, so the information didn’t serve as a distraction. Instead his mind remained focused on the here and now as the girl evaded the ki blasts sent by his Broken Arms, but he noted immediately the look in her eyes as she dismissed them. Did she think they where slow moving or restricted by aerodynamics? If so, that would come to bite her.
He felt her ki trying to work it’s way into his crystals, but made no outward reaction to the sensation. It wasn’t a bad idea. If you didn’t know how Orgone worked it was only natural to think it was simply normal ki given crystalised form. Such ki crystals likely could be manipulated and influenced by putting your own ki into it. But Orgone worked differently, while the method remained the same the actual structure of the crystals formed differently from person to person. Normally channelling foreign ki into an Orgone crystal would just cause it to detonate. But Liek intervened and ensured they remained stable, wanting to see what Opherla was trying.
When she threw her elbow at his gut he reacted without needing to think, years of drills doing their job as muscle memory kicked in. Instead of evading, his eyes noting the placement of her legs as she tried to block where she though he’d go, he instead simply caught the elbow, keeping the joint elastic allowing it, and a buffer of Orgone crystals to absorb the blow, his other hand lashing out towards Opherla’s face but stopping short, giving her the glimpse of the crystal knife in his hand, an inch from her eye, before it dissolved away.
When she tried to follow up by making the crystals explode on him she would discover that Orgone was not so simple to hijack, the crystals refusing to adhere to her demands and detonating asymmetrically starting on the side closest to her, so by the time the explosion reached him most of the force was already gone.
Her attempt to grapple him did actually catch him off guard. He found himself completely as her mercy as she grabbed him and launched him. But once again the Orgone did not cooperate with her and directed the lions share of the explosion towards her by exploding asymmetrically again. She had also underestimated his ability to control his motion through the sky, Liek managing to stop himself before he made contact with the ground.
But she obviously wasn’t deterred by the crystals not cooperating with her as she charged at him with another combo, this time though things didn’t go so easily. The stomp missed entirely as his flight speed came into play again and while the upper cut was on target Liek was prepared and caught it with both hands, using his elbows to absorb the blow like shock absorbers. As she prepared her last move in the combo and gave her taunt Liek replied, “Maybe… take your own advice.”
And then her earlier dismissal bit her.
The Broken Arms struck like lightning before she could deliver the heel kick. Not once or twice, but a dozen times, hitting for all they where worth while zipping about all around her, redirecting on a dime without losing momentum, delivering physical blows before launching ki blasts in their wake. Then with a snap of his fingers he let the remaining crystals on her do what they had been itching to do the moment she started running her ki through them: explode all at once.
“I would advise against trying to hijack my crystals again.” He explained, “The only reason they didn’t all blow at once when you tried was because I made them not do so.” While he didn’t say it, the fact he was able to get an Orgone knife so close to her eye should warn her that his evaluation about not having refined her style enough wasn’t inaccurate.
He allowed the Broken Arms to dissolve as he crossed his arms, “I’m happy to stop if you are.” He then shook his head in discomfort while waving his arm dismissively, “And just call me Liek… we’re both way too young for the honorific and last name thing.” He then added, “Zaks told me a little about you, but not a lot. Nothing about you a person beyond being her daughter… and that both halves of us are the same.” To demonstrate he allowed a little of the Demonic power lurking within to leak out, which, if Zaks was telling the truth, would be familiar to Opherla.

The realization of what had happened finally hit Opherla when she tasted blood as she suddenly felt her mouth and noticed she was bleeding from the mouth. One of the crystals had cut her lip, making her taste blood in her mouth as she noticed the other nicks and cuts from the Broken Arm technique. Her clothes were quite tattered from the explosion but in terms of overall functionality, Opherla was just fine. But it was slightly annoying that this boy seemed to have a very stern God complex about him, pompously almost taunting her with his statements as she cracked her neck, but shoved aside those feelings of anger and disgust as she simply looked at Liek.
"You sure seem confident in the fact you can beat me whatever I may try against you." Opherla remarked. "I suppose I was a bit foolish to try and control your crystals for myself, I merely was trying to see if it would work. Clearly, it won't, so don't expect it again." She remarked. But what was ticking her off the most was the constant. The CONSTANT. Degrading of her style. Not even verbally, she could read all of that in his expressions and eyes, his constant acknowledgement of her "unrefined" style. Despite all the work she put in! All the training she was doing! All the effort she was making to perfect her craft, in this instance this Boy was standing there and acting as a testament to the fact that Opherla WASN'T good enough! That Opherla WASN'T a fighter, or even a refined style in itself. While this boy's intentions were pure, in this instance he had to be the most POMPOUS son of a... ...Well, don't think of the word. Opherla was miffed. She folded her arms as she grit her teeth, trying to hold back her tears. All the praise and effort she's been getting from her mother... was it just to make her feel better? Did her mother lie to her all those times she "improved?" Were all those moments of her gains just meaningless? Has she truly grown at all as a fighter? Has she made ANY progress in her journey to get stronger!? Was she just this weak!? Was she not training right!? Was she not worth ANYTHING!?
All those times of Zaks' words left the mind of the young Demon Saiyan as she entered a state of existential crisis. She ran through her regiment again and again, her techniques again and again, her abilities, her styles, everything... was it all just a farce!? Was her homemade craft just garbage in the face of the entirety of the wide galaxy that was before her!? Would it chew her up and spit her out and obliterate Zaks the minute it got its chance too!? The Phantom Blades, were they weaker than they made themselves to be!?
".......Tch...." Opherla heard not a single word the boy said. Not about their similarities, not about anything, he said at all. Though she did catch the end of his statement as she clicked her tongue, recomposing herself for a second to ask him a question. A question she needed an answer to as she looked at him. "....So what do you see me as." Opherla asked him, in a low tone though he heard every word. What was once her more warrior ready tone had suddenly, seemingly, shattered into the tone of a woman trying to comprehend something, while also being on the edge of breaking down into absolute depression and self-doubt. Liek's words had cut her more than any of his Orgone had. Not formally trained!? The fuck did that have to do with anything!? Opherla's techniques were refined, refined, and refined again to be prepared for any situation..... any situation....
And yet she couldn't even land a clean hit on someone else with similar Power to her.... all because of NON FORMAL TRAINING!?

The young man could see the internal battle raging inside the girl even though she didn’t say anything out loud, but he could see it. At he knew it was his fault, everything he had done until now was the cause of whatever was jumbling around in the girl’s head. Looking back he had been acting arrogantly, letting his Pride get the better of him. He still knew precious little about Saiyans but their penchant for being prideful was one of the things he’d learned. Right now he was sure his own Saiyan side’s pride was being compounded by his demon side, leading to come across as an absolutely bastard.
Well, crabbaskets…
Descending he landed and walked over to a nearby fallen tree. Taking a moment he replayed the fight in his head and spoke again, “Perhaps I should try this again… Firstly, you are clearly talented. Incredibly so.” Looking at her, trying to catch her eyes he continued, “Comparing your style to your mother’s it’s clear you have put in a lot of work to get to where you are now. She seems to just go with whatever she thinks will work in the moment, while you have honed your style to work with your unique strengths.”
“Your speed and strength are very good, and your aggression was well suited to the style you’ve crafted.” He continued, “And don’t think for a second I didn’t notice you holding back. I could feel it in your attacks, just the weight of the impact told me you could put more into them if you wanted.” With a sigh he shrugged and added, “I have no doubt if you used your real strength you’d have mopped the floor with me.”
He leaned down and rested his head on his hands and his elbows on his knees, “If what Zaks told me is anything to go by then her crew is pretty much the only examples of martial arts you’ve ever had experience with, right?” He hummed for a moment, “Like I said, compared to Zaks, who I would expect is the most skilled among then, you out stripe her by a good margin in terms of skill.”
“I still have a lot to learn. How to talk to people being one thing I need to work on. But even my martial arts can improve… a lot.” He had so much left to learn for the Furiemshinken. He knew what he had to do based on the previous versions, but taking that information and making it work for his Third Generation Furiemshinken was not an easy task. Rebuilding such an ancient fighting form from the ground up for entirely different species was daunting… overwhelming…
"Truth be told, I don't think I could have kept that up for much longer." he exhaled. His muscles where aching and his elbows especially hurt. If one where to look closely they could see his hands involuntarily twitching. The shock absorber trick was effective but wasn't suited to repeated use like he'd had to do. Even his breathing indicated the strain he was under, careful inhalations through the nose and exhaling through the mouth, not the breathing of someone who had breezed through something. He added, "Don't forget, you had me on the defensive the entire time. The last time someone pushed me this hard... was my Grandmother..." His tone carried the weight of that statement. That wasn't some flattery or light statement. It was clear he was comparing her to his highest aspiration.
Flaws and all.
“I see you as a very talented young woman.” He replied earnestly, “One who could best me easily if she put her all into it. One who could beat me even more convincingly with a little couching from the right teacher…” He looked down and slumped his shoulders, adding, “Not me, obviously… not after how I’ve acted towards you… I am not worthy of being your teacher.”
“It’s quite clear before I teach anyone I have a lot left to learn first.”
Not once did a hint of insincerity enter his voice. Every word was his honest opinion, even the self disparagement, and even the not very subtle hint that he didn't expect to be able to win against her again if there was ever a rematch.

Opherla's turmoil stopped instantly the minute the boy's entire demeanor changed... what was once his harsh truths and judgments suddenly came words of constructive criticism and support, as Opherla looked at him, full attention now on his words as she listened intently to each one that was said. He immediately began by telling Opherla she was incredibly talented... not the best way to start considering he just criticized her up until this point but it did make her feel a tiny bit better in a way of speaking. But then he went as far as to tell her she was more refined than her mother? That was a farce. The words of flattery helped the mood, but Opherla's humble mind caused her to deny his claim by shaking her head with a small smile.
"Sorry, that's a lie and a half. My mother is far superior to me in every aspect. Even if my style might be more refined than hers, the rest of my shortcomings make her beyond what I'm even able to produce in myself." Opherla admitted with a soft smile as she was at least out of her emotional turmoil for a bit because of it. Then Liek stated that she was holding back. Well, duh. She just met him and she didn't know how much he could take. And that was revealed when he admitted that if she HAD gone all out, she would have easily thrashed him. Hard as that was to believe at first, Opherla finally noticed just how hard Liek was breathing, which indicated while she hadn't used that much energy, he used a lot of it to keep her at bay. So perhaps his words had some merit to them after all...
Liek explained he has much to learn in terms of speaking to others and also honing his craft. Opherla could relate to the latter herself, she always had things to improve upon. But the former caught her slightly off guard. Did this young man grow up alone? Was his home not in the city, but in a sheltered area away from the world? That must mean Opherla was speaking to an equivalent of someone who lived under a rock. This already had her seeing Liek in a much better light, as perhaps he had meant to constructively criticize her before, and only now was doing it properly. Opherla made a note to herself to have them work on that.
Seeing the effects of the battle, Opherla soon sat down on a nearby log as she gestured for Liek to join her. "I can now see just how much that fight took out of you... come on, let's sit and talk. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit tired and expended myself." Opherla honestly admitted, as the adrenaline was now gone and Opherla herself had very labored breathing as she offered for him to even lean on her if he chose to sit with her. Liek would explain to Opherla what he saw her as, and that sealed the deal on getting Opherla back to her old self, as she smiled.
"I thank you for your kind words. But that fight truly showed me just how much stronger I truly need to become..." Opherla admitted as she took a deep breath and looked up at the beautiful sky. "I've been meaning to try and find another teacher, truly I have... the problem is I don't know where to look. My mother and I haven't been on this planet for that long after all. Perhaps you could point me in the right direction of one?" Opherla asked, hoping Liek might know of a Master she could go and learn under.

“I still say you have the more refined fighting form.” Liek replied with a shake of his head, “She’s more a straight brawler backed by years of combat experience. Other then that experience I don’t think there is all that much between the two of you.” He leaned back on the log he was sitting on and gently bent his legs and straightened them as a cool down exercise.
“I’m weaker then either of you, even if my form is more refined. Honestly that just makes me even more motivated to work harder! I want to get strong enough that I can spar with you and Zaks at your full strengths… and from there I aim to catch up to where Grandma was…” He admitted. That made two lower runs to aim for before his ultimate goal… and that distance between that goal and the runs was much, much further then the first rung he was aiming for.
“I only left the forest I grew up in after meeting your mother.” He admitted leaning forward again and flexing his arms back and forth like he did his legs, “But Grandma used to tell me all sorts of things, one of which was about an old hermit down in the Southern Islands region. He was eccentric but a master martial artist… Turns out she wasn’t just spinning yarn, I went looking for him and found him.” Looking the young woman in the eyes he added, “His name is Master Roshi and he even agreed to take me on as a student, I’m sure he’ll accept you too.”
After a pause he added, “But… uh… just… be prepared…” He rubbed the back of his head, “He’s… has a thing for women in swimsuits…” A heavy sigh escaped his chest as he remembered accompanying Roshi to the mainland to get supplies only for the old man to waste half the day ‘patrolling’ the beach and making a nuisance of himself.

Opherla was ever so grateful for the information she just received. A Master, here on Earth, who was willing to train her, and someone from Liek's family had already been acquainted with him! Opherla had her hopes incredibly high... until it got to the point of this Master's... quirks. There was a catch to everything, wasn't there? It was no matter to Opherla. The fact he was around was good enough for her to smile at Liek, and give him a big ol' hug!
"Thank you so much for this information!" Opherla beamed with joy and elation in her tone. "I'm going to go over to his place right now and start training anew. Let's stay in contact, okay? We can help each other improve together." Opherla promised Liek before she stood up and stretched out the soreness from the spar the two of them had, as she looked back at Liek with a smile that seemed to shimmer in the snow covered wasteland as she looked back to Liek. "Take care of yourself, alright? When we meet again, we must train in earnest!" Opherla declared as she would take off to the sky to try and find Master Roshi and learn from him, eager to do so, so that she could return and spar with Liek in earnest and with newfound strength. In Opherla's mind, this was the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

Honestly, after that last incident Liek was surprised that Master Roshi didn’t have at least three dozen restraining orders to his name, wasn’t banned from the mainland and have to be on some kind of registry. But then the guy was ancient beyond belief, most people probably thought he’d died a long time ago or didn’t believe it was his real identity when they looked at the records. Then there was the mystery of how he kept up that kind of energy at his age, Liek was given to understand human men started to taper off after they hit their mid thirties and lost most of it by fifty. Yet there was Roshi at over two or three hundred, going as strong as ever!
He’d been waiting for Opherla’s response, expecting some disgruntled comment or another. But a hug was the absolute last thing on the list of expected things that would happen. The moment he made contact and he realised what was happening he went rigid, his eyes widening as he bit his lip. His arms remained at his sides but jerked slightly on instinct, a part of him initially mistaking the affectionate gesture for an attack. This embrace was the first time he’d made physical contact with someone in any way other then in battle since his Grandmother had died. His chest tightened as he remember how she had used to comfort him as a child and how she had held him as a young man.
And how much he missed it…
He barely even registered the young woman’s words as she left as the cold sting of mourning washed over him all over again, the deep loneliness he felt since his Grandmother’s passing hitting him hard all over again. After several minutes his mind finally processed Opherla’s words and he quietly acknowledged them. Stay in touch and train together. Yes, he would do that.
Eventually, as the light of day began to wane, the young man stood slowly and inhaled the cold mountain air. He looking up he reached out an open hand to the sky. He stood like that for a moment before clenching his fist and whispering, “Watch me, Grandma! I will make you proud! I will catch up to you and become a true Knight of the Fury!”
