While idling in his favorite pub, Athren was once against served brews by the bartender Cress. He casually sipped on them simply enjoying his time. Though he couldn't help but overhear that Commander Brahma was about to leave Vegeta City and head down to the lower class region on some kind of assignment. While this wasn't something unusual, what he heard next was. The individuals who were speaking about it had also mentioned their intentions to track him down and slaughter him due to past aggression towards their squad. Luckily, it had only been two saiyan warriors discussing this.
Now, Athren would usually mind his business but in this case he did respect Brahma growing up. He couldn't help but remember being a young saiyan child striving to be the best and Brahma himself took time out of his day to give some tips to Athren before he got promoted to commander. This was enough to drive Athren to assign himself to help protect Brahma as he flew across the planet. Now, if Athren had been a betting man, he'd guess they'd jump him in a place like Canta Forest or the Oozaru wastelands. Somewhere that didn't get a lot of traffic, somewhere there wouldn't be many potential witnesses to the attack.
Athren heard the time frame and had short little while to prepare. He got on his Super Heavy Weighted clothing and popped some pre-workout mix into his system. He wanted to be ready to fight and he wouldn't mind any additional strength added to him by the end of the fight. At this point, he'd do anything to get stronger for he did make an oath to himself after all. Though crossing his mind, there was immediately one issue Athren saw with his plan of helping out. Surely, the commander was rusty. They didn't often do any real fighting anymore and left that to their soldiers. They led, guided and devised plans so he couldn't count on Brahma being a big help if this thing got into a drawn out fight. He also wanted to even the odds and make it a two on two, especially considering the fact that his weights reduced his power level significantly. Enough that if he wore them during a fight, he could lose to somebody much weaker than him and that wasn't something that he was down to risk.
The best answer to this issue? The best person to make this fight a fair fight. Pars. Not only would it be good for both of them to get some more live fighting experience together but it could increase their bond and help them out in the future. The only issue with this, was that he heard Pars had gotten himself BACK into the healing chamber already. He didn't know who he fought, but he wasn't tolerating this again. He wasn't even deployed on a damn assignment. He needed to wake up and get serious about his training and what better way than being encouraged to go on a little adventure? Hell, it'd even help Pars get stronger.
Athren flew over to the medical area that he all too recently got released from. He walked in the door and walked down the rows until he came across Pars. "... Damn it Pars." He vocalized as he glanced down at the healing pods control panel. He used his pointing finger and started pressing buttons. Beep, Boop, Boop, Beep. With four buttons, the healing liquid started to drain. Now this was something that wasn't allowed, this was something that he could likely get punished for but he didn't much care. He figured he had a solid reason for doing what he was doing. After all, he was just recruiting an ally to go protect a commander from a rumored threat.
"Wake up, Damn it." He gave the bottom of the chamber a light kick, sending a loud echoing thud throughout the chamber now that the liquid was low enough. If Pars wouldn't wake up, he'd damn well have to do this on his own. Not that he would've minded but he thought that this was a much better outcome. At this point, he wouldn't even have time to try and go find Ryoko as the clock was ticking. It was only a matter of time until Brahma would leave and head towards the location where he was likely to get jumped.
If Athren was going to pull this off successfully, they were best meeting Brahma before he even managed to leave the city. That way they could explain the situation to him and tag along. The commander wouldn't have to give any mission specifics, hell he wouldn't even have to talk. He'd just have to shut up and accept that he'd have to low class warriors following him to keep him out of trouble. Of course, Athren couldn't help but feel the thrill of excitement already settle into his bones. He was going to get into another fight, it seemed like that was the normal lately. Every single damn day Athren was facing up against another saiyan he hadn't met before and he wasn't complaining.
Fighting new saiyan warriors was the best method of training. He had to react to new things in real time and it would only prepare him for even stronger opponents. He only hoped that if Pars did wake up within the next few minutes that he was just as ready and eager as Athren was to fight. Athren couldn't help but be confident that Pars would share in the excitement of combat and be eager for this. They were both low class warriors after all and they thrived off this type of shit. The only real difference here is they were about to engage in a serious battle on their home planet. This fight had stakes, it very well might've been to the death. It was likely the other saiyans weren't going to leave any witnesses, but they'd have to see.

Pars's eyes slowly opened within his healing pod in confusion as he felt something hit it. This was a little earlier than he expected, he should have had at least another four hours before he was out. As the liquid fully drained and he was fully awake, he looked straight ahead through the glass window in front of him. His eyes widened for a moment in disbelief as an all too familiar face was before him. It was none other than the new guy in their squad, Athren. He was already a pain in the ass when they invaded Cereal and now here he was, disturbing his healing process. The injuries he sustained from Salada were pretty serious, he was hoping to be at a hundred percent.
So much for that plan.
Pars's pod opened up before he stepped out, standing in front of Athren in his undershirt and pants while his actual Saiyan armor laid on the floor next to him. He crossed his arms and glared at him, clearly a little annoyed by being let out early. It was even against the rules, who did this guy think he was? Given that he was only one rank below him and they were both Low Class, he didn't mind talking to him with a more "conversational" tone.
"Really? You better have a damn good reason for kicking me out."
He didn't know much about Athren. The only information he got when he joined was that he wasn't that new to the game. He had been transferred from a previous squad. He wasn't sure what exactly happened to them, but it probably wasn't good. He didn't have any desire to pry, as it wasn't his business and it wasn't important. What WAS important was their squad serving the Saiyan cause and the crown well, and that meant... BEING AT 100%. What Pars NEEDED was to get back in the pod!

While it seemed to have taken Pars a full on eternity to wake up, Athren gave him a moment. Though of course he was met with disbelief that he had gone as far to wake Pars early out of the healing pod. Luckily for Athren, he had just the perfect reason for why he was doing that and given the fact that they didn't really have a lot of time he was going to blurt it out quickly. His eyes glanced around as he wanted to keep this on the down low. He didn't need plenty of people hearing this and making a fuss.
"Commander Brahma is heading to one of the outposts in the low class region. While I was in the pub, I couldn't help but overhear two other saiyans talking about attacking him on the way. Something about revenge for former wrong doings." Athren paused for all but a brief moment.
"I'm going to go stop them and I figured you'd be more than willing to make this fight a two on two. I have a hunch that the commander won't be much use."
Athren glanced at Pars with a seriousness in his eyes. "So get yourself together and let's go. We're running out of time as it is."
Athren didn't even wait for Pars to confirm or deny whether or not he was going to go and assist on this little mission but the way Athren was speaking, he implied that Pars didn't have much of a choice. Though if Pars did decide to say no, Athren wasn't going to waste time trying to convince him otherwise. He'd go at this alone if he had too.
This was one fight that shouldn't have been too difficult and compared to Cereal, it likely would've been easy. If anything, at minimum it would make for a very good training session. Pars just had to put his best efforts into this if he was going to tag along. For one, Athren didn't want another loss and he really didn't want to remove his weights. While he was training with weights, his power level was rather normal. It was close to what it used to be and he didn't want to let off just how strong he was yet. He was going to keep that a secret, hold it to himself. He'd show off his power when it mattered the most.
Until then, he refused to reveal his hand to the rest of his race. He would continue training and getting stronger and so long as he kept his weights on while training, anybody who would sense him or use their scouter would think he was growing very little in terms of power. Of course, that simply wasn't going to be the case though. He had already been so much stronger than he was when he left for Cereal, and he was only going to keep getting stronger. This fight alone would probably be a significant jump in power too.

""Won't be of much use?" If a Commander's so useless that two Low-Class Warriors can take care of him then maybe he deserves to die." Pars replied, reaching down and grabbing his armor off the floor. The last thing he expected was to be called to clean up somebody else's mess. How could a Commander be so sloppy to leave such a loose end? Ironically, part of him wanted to side with the assassins. At least they had the stones to do what they needed to do. He had to admit though, a surprise attack was cowardly. A true warrior would have faced their adversary head-on and achieved a REAL victory.
"Why are you even interested in this?" Pars asked as he slid his armor on. It wasn't every day that he saw someone stick out their neck for someone else, especially someone they didn't even know. Athren's first impression didn't exactly give off any "heroic" vibes. "Sure, it's technically "treason", but fights happen all the time. If Brahma dies, it just makes room for one of us to rise up. If they die, it's just business as usual. What makes this one so special?" . From what he could tell, his ribcage and lung had fully healed. At least he could breathe again. If he had to guess, he was probably operating around 95%.
Pars didn't exactly know Commander Brahma on a personal level, he's just seen him around a few times. He seemed like a capable leader for sure, but nothing that wasn't seen in any other Commander within the Saiyan ranks. Still, as much of a drag as this sudden situation was, he wasn't about to pass up a chance to stretch his legs. He would walk toward the door that led out of medical as Athren responded, who would presumably be right behind him.

He couldn't deny that Pars had a point. If the Commander required two low class warriors to protect him, maybe he should've died. It was a saying that Athren had heard far too often. 'The weak perish while the strong survive'. It was very common on Vegeta and in the case of the commander, maybe he should follow suit. If he couldn't take care of himself, then maybe he should die but still, he was a respectful individual and in Athren's mind it served two purposes. Not only would they manage to get a little closer to the commander, they would also get a fighting and essentially a training session. He was more eager for the fight than getting closer to the Commander but there was something about being owed a favor from the rank of commander that seemed very beneficial.
"You're probably right, but I don't mind the idea of the Commander owing us a favor in the future. Even as something small as being deployed to a planet we want to go instead of one we don't has an advantage to it."
His shoulders shrugged lightly. He didn't find the needed to explain that he was rather fond of Brahma and that he had a small influence in Athren's training growing up. With that fact, Athren was going to double down on the matter of the fight and even taunt Pars about it. If Pars didn't want to get stronger or fight a few saiyans, than what kind of saiyan was he?
"More importantly, we'll get a good fight out of it and get stronger. Now that alone is worth it, isn't it?" He glanced at Pars coldly, his arms now crossing in front of his chest. "If you'd rather sit in this little healing pod, than so be it. Just don't be surprised when you can't even compete with me."
From what Athren could sense, he was already significantly stronger than Pars and it had only been a short time since Cereal. With his weights on, the two of them seemed almost even. If Athren were to remove his weights though the power gap would be significant enough that Pars wouldn't even stand a chance.
"So, what it going to be, huh?"
Athren waited, he knew he didn't have much longer. He wanted to get going and meet these guys in a fight and his excitement was already high and his blood was already pumping. He knew this was going to be a fight to the death. The saiyans that were going to attack wouldn't want any witnesses to their attack, so they'd be trying to kill their opponents as quickly as possible. It was a thought that made Athren smirk, he had an opportunity to get blood on his hands and really let loose her. In a spar he may have still got excited, but there as a limit to how hard you could push. After all, you didn't want to kill your opponent in what was meant to be a friendly match.

"Can't handle you? Please. I didn't end up in that pod for no reason. You just worry about yourself." Pars said sharply, a little annoyed at being underestimated. The nerve of some people. They get a little higher than you in rank and they think they own you. Just wait, I'll become more powerful than you can even imagine. He thought to himself as the two of them left the medical area and entered a hallway that led out of the building. He would roll his right shoulder to loosen himself up a bit, getting ready for the incoming fight.
"*Sigh* But sure, I'll join you. Besides, you may have a point about that favor. There are a few missions that the Elites go on that I'd certainly like to get a piece of. Still, Brahma probably isn't going to be so happy that a couple of Low-Classes showed up to save him from other Low-Classes. We're going to have to be prepared to wound his pride." He warned as he opened the door that led outside. To someone from Earth or Namek, this may seem like an odd thing to be worried about. However, insulting a higher-ranking soldier in such a way can cause a lot more trouble than one would expect.
In some cases, Low-Class Saiyans have actually been severely punished for interfering in another's battle. It could even reach the point where they might have to fight the Commander themselves! A "helpful gesture" is something that is easily seen as a form of babying or doubting one's abilities. It was even worse when it's from someone beneath them. Pars was excited about getting into a fight but was definitely not looking forward to the crybaby behavior from Brahma. Unfortunately, there may not be a whole lot they can do in that situation if it arises.
They'd just have to cross that bridge when they come to it.
Pars looked at his squadmate for directions.
"Well, lead the way." Once Athren took flight toward their mission location, he'd immediately follow him there.

Athren couldn't help but smirk at Pars' comment about becoming more powerful than Athren could imagine. In a way, Athren wanted to see it. If Pars could do it, good on him but it was going to take a load of work and dedication to make it happen. Currently, Athren was on that path. He was determined to become as strong as he possibly could and at the very moment, his weights hid his progress. It was perfect, it was something he could unveil at the right time, at an important moment but for now, he refused to show his hand.
As he led them outdoors, Athren responded to Pars' comment about wounded the commanders pride. "You've got a good point, but I have an idea to minimize the damage." He snickered as he took flight and blasted off towards the low class region. "We tail him, the second we see him being attacked we jump in and tell him to go and that they're trying to kill him." The wind ruffling through his hair as the fresh breeze kissed and cooled his skin. "It sounds like he's doing something important, so that should take priority. We give him the chance to do that and I'd bet he'd recognize me. We discuss the events at a later date when his pride isn't so hurt."
When they got to the low class region, commander Brahma was spotted flying through the skyline and Athren kept his distance but kept in a visual sight of him. He didn't want to lose him here. Athren really wanted this fight, particularly to get stronger. That's what Athren was chasing here, power.
He could use more of it and Pars could too. They could think of it as training for that tournament on the Earth. Athren had assumed there wouldn't be many great warriors there but given it was advertised as intergalactic, there was a chance that somebody strong would show up and give a saiyan a hard time and if that did happen, Athren wanted to be ready. Ultimately, Athren wanted a saiyan to win and if it wasn't him, so be it.
He was just going to put himself in the best position possible to have a chance at the victory. After all, that ten thousand zeni could go a long way in his own pockets. He was thinking about purchasing a better ship and installing a gravity machine to help him with his training. Now that he was more motivated than ever, he wanted anything he could get his hands on that would maximize his power level increases. Only a short while ago, he was less than half the strength he was now and this increase in power made him realize that the ceiling of a saiyans power didn't exist and the saiyan warriors who didn't grow much in power were just lazy and slacking or they didn't think they needed to train because they had a superior mindset. Either way, Athren was going to be different.

"Alright, fine. But when the fight starts, stay out of my way. Don't think I've forgotten that fiasco on Cereal." Pars replied. hoping that history wouldn't repeat itself. Hopefully, they could fight alongside each other with much more chemistry than before. Either that or fight separately altogether. He had already been to the healing pod twice recently and did not want to be sent back there a third time. He needed to spend more time out in the field and less time recovering from it.
This plan was definitely not his style, sitting here following Brahma until something interesting happened. Hell, how come they couldn't just find the treacherous Saiyans directly? If Athren already knew who these guys were, why even do all this? They could've just headed straight for them and been done with it. Pars crossed his arms as he trailed the Commander like a babysitter watching over a small child. This was no way to treat an Elite Warrior in the ranks. Was Brahma even worth the trouble? Probably not. This "favor" plan better work out. The training he would get would probably be somewhat worthwhile, but he could've BEEN training by now. He didn't need to fight random cannon fodder.
Well, I'm in it now. I should just stop complaining and deal with it. He thought, deciding to put his complaints to bed and focus on doing this right. He wasn't about to mess up because he was whining like a baby oozaru.
Pars was thinking over Athren's plan again as they waited, except this time, something he said before caught his attention.
"Wait a minute. Recognize you? How do you know each other?" He asked. Was that what this was about? Did the Corporal go soft and want to rescue his friend or something? Was this the actual reason they were here?

As they flew and the wind continued to rush against Athren's face, the small talk had continued. Pars didn't forget about the whole fiasco on Cereal and Athren couldn't help but chuckle. "Don't think I've forgotten either but I wouldn't change a single thing about it. That Cerealian I fought? He was something else entirely. That fight.. That fight was beyond perfect and I couldn't have asked for better. It's rare for an opponent like that to show up, so I'm grateful for it." He didn't care if he lost the fight. He went out like a saiyan and fought to the very end. He wouldn't have changed a single thing about it.
As far as the plan went, it might've not been his style but if Athren had known of Pars wonders the answer would've been simple. He didn't really know the individuals planning the attack. He heard of the plan and knew of the location they'd depart but they had likely already left by time Athren had gotten Pars so meeting them head on wouldn't work. Athren no longer knew where they'd be.
Though a they flew, Pars had asked another question. He had doubled down on the recognized part and Athren arched a brow. He couldn't help but wonder why Pars was so invested in that little statement. Athren knew a Commander, was it really that big of a deal? "Before he got to his current rank he gave me some tips as a kid and even helped me take control of the Oozaru form. I wouldn't say we know each other but we know of each other. Given my unique eyes, tail and specific armor coloring. I highly doubt he'd forget those little interactions back then."
He didn't wager the Commander would remember his name, but surely he'd remember the small saiyan that he assisted and if he didn't, surely a small reminder would've been all that was required to refresh his memory. Though, the time had finally come as two saiyans flew up from the treeline before and headed straight for Brahma.
"Alright then, let's get this done." Athren stated as he blasted off ahead to cut them off. He targeted one of the saiyans and got in his way. Yelling to Brahma. "They're here to kill you, just keep going. We've got this!"
It was at this point the one saiyan closed the gap with Athren and started throwing a barrage of attacks. "Stupid to get in OUR way, I guess we'll just have to kill you too!"
With that, the battle was now set and it was going to be a solid two on two. Hopefully, Pars could keep up. Athren didn't want to transform or remove his weights to take this win. He simply wanted to dispose of these guys rather quickly and have a nice little sparring session. With these weights on his body, it would make for a rather good training session and Athren wasn't going to complain about the end results.

"Getting your ass handed to you is something to be grateful for. Right." Pars replied, rolling his eyes. He could appreciate a good fight, but that's just the half of it. The other half of it was that you were supposed to WIN. None of the exciting stuff matters if you can finish the job. "Couldn't have asked for better", he could have asked for VICTORY. If he was going to keep up this attitude, then Pars may actually be able to keep up with him after all. He would be hungrier for power than he was. Was it too late to transfer him to another Squadron?
As the Corporal went into a little detail about his history with Brahma, Pars didn't respond to it much, though he made him a mental note. Somehow, he doubted they'd be here if the Commander was just some nobody. Between that and the Cerealians, he couldn't but feel like Athren was a wet blanket. A proud weakling and a hint of attachment issues. Fan-frickin'-tastic. On the bright side, at least the assassins finally showed up. Pars took off towards the Low Class alongside his partner as the latter called out to Brahman warning him of the attack. While Athren stopped in front of them to cut them off, the Specialist didn't even hesitate.
He flew RIGHT PAST him, TACKLING one of the Saiyans to the ground. While his partner was busy with his battle, Pars was on top of his target throwing punch after punch, not letting him get up!
"HOOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHHAAHAHAHAHA! FINALLY! COME ON. FIGHT BACK. FIGHT BACK!" He screamed, his fists hitting forearms as his opponent held his arms up to block. He didn't want to give him a chance to talk. He wanted a REAL FIGHT! Surely someone from his own Class would put up a decent fight! They might not be Salada, but they could at least get his blood pumping a little! Loosen him up a bit!
"Grah, alright! How about THIS!" The Saiyan said, planting his foot on Pars chest and kicking him off and into the air! Pars slowed himself down with his flight, not letting himself to thrown too far away by the momentum. He immediately had to defend the follow-up attack, parrying a right jab that would've hit his jaw. He immediately went back on the offensive, countering with a swift elbow-uppercut to the assassin's chin!
The two combatants would exchange several blows as they fought in the air. After taking a couple blows to the chest and face, Pars landed a solid knee to the torso, raising both of his hands and throwing a downward punch that would send his target back toward the ground. He had a wicked smile on his face, blood dripping down his chin from the corner of his mouth. At least one of them had some bite. It was a good thing too, it looked like this whole thing wasn't a total waste of time. Hopefully, Athren wouldn't be having that much trouble with his opponent. As for Brahma, well, he better keep quiet and sit out on this one. Pars wanted no help, this battle was HIS and HIS alone!

Before the fighting began there had been a few more words exchanged between Athren and Pars. It seemed that they still hadn't managed to reach and understanding or middle ground and their mindsets had been all too different. This was something that would continue to cause difficulties for them in the future if they didn't find a way to understand each other greater. They were a team after all, and if they wanted to succeed as a team they'd have to build up their bond and learn to see the world through the perspective of the other. This of course was something that would be easier said than done for a saiyan. Athren couldn't help but roll his eyes. "I might've not beaten him but I sure as hell got a lot stronger, maybe even learned a few things. Going forward, I can't really complain about it."
With that being said, Athren couldn't help but reflect on the situation. It was true that he lost but just because he lost didn't mean he didn't have to be grateful. He had the fight of his life and got a feeling that was rare to him in that battle. He dug deep and kept fighting until he no longer could. It was the most entertaining fight of his life and he got stronger because of it. There was no way he could dismiss it so easily. There was lessons to be learned in defeat and it seemed that a majority of the saiyan race was just far too stubborn to understand that. A loss might've hit the pride every now and then, but Athren could easily manipulate the outcome into a positive to soften that blow. Even the Zenkai boost alone had been significant. He was so much stronger than he ever was before and that alone was a reason to be grateful for.
With Athren getting in the way of the two and prepared to fight in a two on one if need be, Pars had come in and immediately tackling one of the two saiyans to the ground. Athren of course couldn't help but smirk at this as he locked in on the other one that was still airborne. It turned out that this was going to be the one on one that he wanted and he knew that he was going to need to focus. This guy wasn't going to take things lightly, if anything he was going to go all out in order to kill Athren but he wouldn't have expected any less. After all, this saiyan and his companion were going to be in a hell of a lot of trouble if they got out of here alive and the only way to avoid that was to leave absolutely no witnesses. This heightened Athren's senses as he prepared himself to fight to the death and still, there was nowhere else that he would've rather been.
Now that the stage was set, Athren and his opponent immediately got to the fight without any further words for the time being. They closed the gap and their punches collided as they both began to unleash a massive barrage of punches and kicks towards one another. From the first few moments of this fight, they had appeared to be completely even at the start of the fight though this would've simply been because Athren was being held back his Super Heavy Weights but the benefit of those had far outweighed the cons. Athren would rather struggle in a fight and get a whole lot stronger than dominate the battlefield and come out with little growth in strength.
He was chasing power and that's the whole reason why he wanted to be here. He wanted to fight, he wanted to grow stronger and more experienced. He was chasing the high from the battle on Cereal to help him prepare for the future. It didn't matter whether or not it was for the tournament on Earth or the next big powerful warrior that would show up to defend a planet that the saiyans were invading. He needed the power, he needed the high and right now, he'd use anything as an excuse to get anything close to it and while on Vegeta, this was the closet thing he could get to it. It wasn't because of the power of the individuals but it was because of the stakes. This opponent was trying to kill him and that made something about this far more significant.
"Is that the best you can do!?" Athren exclaimed as he saw his opening on his opponent. As his opponent lunged a long punch forward, Athren dipped under it and collided his fist into his opponents stomach with all the power he could muster into that single hit. He would follow up by bringing both arms overhead and interlocking his fingers to bring them down to crash them down into the back of the opponent in a double axe handle style strike.
"URGH!" Was the shout of pain from the opponent that Athren hit and with the force of the impact, the saiyan went blasting down towards the surface of Vegeta. He crashed into the ground hard and sent a wave of dust throughout the area as a crater was formed from the impact but Athren wasn't going to let up so easily, he was going to push, he was going to keep pushing himself to go harder and harder. With the saiyan now in the creator, Athren kept up on his attack.
Athren would now unleash a massive barrage of Ki blasts down towards the surface of Vegeta, they had all been aimed right towards his opponent who had seemed to be stunned for a short moment due to the impact. This saiyan was going to have his work cut out for him to get out of this one, especially since their power levels were nearly on par. This guy was going to regret trying to go on this little assignment.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHA! THIS IS TOO EASY. YOU WERE HERE TO TAKE OUT A COMMANDER? HOW WERE YOU GOING TO MANAGE THAT?! YOU CAN'T EVEN DEFEAT ME!"
Pars wasn't about to let up, increasing the ferocity of his attacks. After a few more exchanges, his opponent was forced on the defensive in the form of a standing block and he was planning on keeping him there. There was nothing like dominating your opponent completely. As he kept punching away at the opponent's block, he knew that victory would soon be in his grasp. The defense was going to crumble any second, and that would be when he would finish this fight once and for all. It looked like he was about to be proven right, Pars told Athren that coming here wasn't necessary. Even if they did land a sneak attack on him as they had planned, he doubted that the two of them would be able to take down someone like a Commander. If Brahma DID manage to lose to them somehow, it would surely be a disgrace that would follow him throughout the rest of his life. The King himself would probably strip him of his rank and send him packing back into the lower ranks as it is. Leave it up to Athren to get them caught up in another mess. The funny part was that due to Athren's meddling, Pars wasn't even at 100%. He could still feel a vague presence of the bruises he sustained from his fight with Salada, and yet he was still dominating anyway. How many weaklings like this plagued the Lower Ranks? How many of them were holding the Saiyans back? How many of them were comfortable with their inadequacy? Was this why the Elites constantly looked down on them and treated them all like dirt? He can't say he'd blame them. Pars had to rise up the ranks as fast as he could. He couldn't keep being associated with these CLOWNS! "AND YOU CALL YOURSELF A SAIYAN?!" Pars shouted as he threw another right hook, breaking through his opponent's guard and struck dead in the face! His knuckles smashed through the bridge of the nose, blood splattering the warrior's face onto Pars's. With his left, the Specialist would land a powerful GUT PUNCH, causing the fighter to bend over in agonizing pain. There wouldn't be any time to recover, as Pars sent them right on their back with his final attack, a powerful knee to the chin! He was pissed now. This guy was a joke! He was excited at first, but he completely adapted to his movements in mere moments. They were linear, telegraphed, predictable! This is no way a warrior should fight! A real KILLER should be continuously keeping the opponent guessing, constantly have them on the ropes, have an aura of killing intent, and strike fear into the heart of their adversaries! Pars could sense NOTHING from this guy, he may as well have been fighting a training dummy! "Disgraceful! I thought you would've had much more fight in you, but you turned out to be hardly a warm-up! How are you okay with this? How could you possibly LIVE with yourself after this? You want to waste your time on petty things when you can't even take care of yourself. Shameful. You don't deserve to be one of us. Why don't you just crawl into a hole somewhere and DIE with the rest of the trash." He said, standing over his opponent who was pretty much defeated. He raised one foot and jammed it into the guy's upper forearm, breaking the humerus bone. WC: 605 TWC: 2415

With Athren's relentless barrage of Ki blasts continuing on, the saiyan attacker had been struggling to break free and get into the fight again. Though for good sport and the fun of it, Athren slowed his pace slightly and started circling the blasts around his opponent. This was done deliberately to give this guy a chance to react. Athren could tell this thing was already over, he was far superior to this guy even with his weights on. He couldn't help but think that he might as well have a little bit of fun before he solidifies the fights conclusion. He was confident that there was nothing this guy could do to change this fight around and Athren still did have a few tricks up his sleeve if this guy managed to pull out such a surprise. If it came to it Athren could transform or he could simply remove his weights. Either way, he had this. He was just going to lead this guy into a false sense of security for a moment and give him a little boost to his confidence before finishing him off. While it was entertaining to break somebody's body, it was more entertaining to break their spirit and their pride.
The incoming attacks had given the warrior a moment to get on his feet. At this point his armor and clothing was tattered, torn and cracked. It was mostly destroyed and he had a lot of exposed skin showing that had now been bruised and battered as well. "Damn you, I'll .. I'll.. I'll KILL YOU!" He exclaimed as he shot up and twirled around the incoming Ki blasts. He flew straight up with such speed and ferocity, closing the distance between himself and Athren in a hurry. He cocked back his right fist as he launched it towards Athren's face. He was hoping to have this devestating punch leave a hefty mark, he wanted to show his opponent that he was capable of inflicting pain too. Little did this saiyan know though, he was outclassed in every way and his opponent had still been holding back. This lack of knowledge had made him feel like he had a chance, like he could turn this thing around and cause some damage and that's exactly what he was going to try to do. He was going to tap into everything he had to try and get the upper hand.
Of course Athren knew this attack was coming, he saw the warrior twirl around his attacks and close the distance and when it came to the powerful punch Athren simply stopped shooting his KI blasts and extended his hand and caught the warriors fist in his palm with little to no difficulties. Athren of course couldn't help but smirk as he squeezed the warriors fist tightly. "You really thought that'd work?" He said calmly and coldly. With that, Athren pushed the warriors arm back and started throwing a combination of endless punches towards his opponent. Each one collided with the saiyan opposite him, they had been heavy punches that had been deadly fast. The other warrior was unable to defend against any of them and Athren simply just dominated the opposing fight. There wasn't anything he could do except for take each and one of the blows coming his way. While he was trying his best to defend himself, he just wasn't fast enough and he just didn't compare to the warrior he was facing. It would seem that in this fight and in this situation, he was going to lose whether he liked it or not.
Athren would glance down to see Pars' situation unfolding briefly as he continued to unleash his furry of fists towards the saiyan warrior. It had seemed as if Pars was finishing off his own little fight within the next few moments. Athren thought it best to wrap this up on his end too. After all, he would've want to keep Pars waiting. "Alright, It's time I end this.." Athren said aloud as he gripped the saiyans arm and flipped him over his shoulder. Tossing him right back down to the surface of Vegeta below. By the time the saiyan had crashed into the surface of the planet Athren was already flying down towards him as fast as he could. His right fist cocked back as red aura had consumed his fist. He was preparing to finish the fight with his Nova Punch and with his enemy stuck in a crater on the ground, it'd be an easy finish.
With Athren reaching his opponent he shot his fist down into the stomach of the warrior and unleashed his Nova Punch at it's maximum capacity. He wasn't holding back, this was an attack to finish this guy off. A massive explosion was formed from the point of impact as he unleashed his power and killed the saiyan that he was up against. When the dust settled, Athren had been standing and his opponent had been sent to the other world. Athren couldn't help but have a little smirk on his face as he slowly rose from the now larger crater and put his eyes on Pars.
He crossed his arms and glanced over, just in time to see Pars breaking bones. "Hurry up and finish him off. This fights over." Athren said with confidence as it was coming to it's ultimate conclusion. It hadn't been too difficult but Athren felt as if he got a workout. He didn't exactly have any complaints with the outcome either. While he wished there would've been a more challenging opponent, this was still beneficial for him and even caused him to have a little bit of fun. Moving forward though, he had a feeling he'd avoid this little interactions and he'd start minding his business and focusing on his own training unless something serious was taking place. Now all he had to do was sit there and wait, watching Pars as he was going to make his finishing move. Though Athren couldn't help but wonder, was Pars going to show mercy?

"You brought me out here, remember? Now you get to sit and wait. I'm getting my fill. Why don't you tend to your daddy while I take care of things here? Get that "reward" you talked about." Pars said, looking back at Athren before turning back to his opponent. Interrupted his recovery just for this trash, and now had the audacity to order him around even more. His "partner" really knew how to piss him off. He put more pressure on the already broken bone, causing the Low Class beneath to scream in agonizing pain. It was a painful reminder of the food chain.
"AARRRGH! You FUCKER! I'll kill you for this! I'm not finished yet! When I get out of this I'm going to-" Whatever he said after went through one ear and out the other. Pars knew that his target was going absolutely nowhere, he could even see it in his eyes. This false bravado only made this situation more embarrassing for everyone involved. Sometimes, you had to know when to shut up and let your fists do the talking. Once it looked like the little speech and the empty threats were finished, Pars would simply talk as if he didn't hear anything. The last thing he was going to do was entertain this disaster.
"This pain you feel? That is weakness. You must've forgotten what you were put in this universe to do. What you represent. What your mission is. And it's going to cost you your life." He raised his foot off of his arm, and stomped on his chest instead. He felt the sternum collapse beneath the weight, almost completely crushing the man's heart. The Low Class coughed up concerning amounts of blood and had a worried expression on his face. Pars shook his head in dissatisfaction, a warrior more concerned about staying alive out of fear of death than fulfilling their duty was a waste of time.
"Look at you, a fish out of water. You still don't get it, even at the brink of death. If you hadn't tried to kill one of your own kind, I might have let you live and forced you to carry the weight of your failure on your shoulders. Maybe then you might've actually become USEFUL. But, since you want to prioritize sabotaging our leadership instead of serving it, I'll just put you out of your misery." Pars leaned forward, putting more weight on his foot to cause even more damage. His opponent squirmed violently, desperately clinging to any chance at life. And yet, it wasn't enough.
"Remember this feeling and take it with you to the grave." He said before completely crushing the heart underneath his heel, leaving a lifeless bloodied soldier on the ground. He walked away from the corpse and toward wherever Athren would be next. Having had his "fun", if he could even call it that, he crossed his arms as he wanted to see if this pointless adventure would actually pay off. Hopefully, Brahma wouldn't be annoyed about them butting it and fighting his battles.
"Well Athren, are we done here? There's no use in going back into that healing pod now, so I'd like to get some actual training in." He asked, looking up at the sky. It was late, and he wanted to get something resembling a real workout in. Maybe in the Oozaru Wastelands. It was quiet there and there was no full moon tonight so that no one would disturb him. Thanks to the time he spent healing, he didn't need to go back to bed anyway.

"Why don't you go tend to your daddy while I take care of things here?"
While Athren was trying to get along with his squad mate, this was something that had set him off. While he managed to remain composed and crossed armed as he spectated, every ounce of his body wanted to close the gap and drag Pars' face along the dirt. Athren wanted to send him right back into that healing pod with worse injuries than he received the last time but he knew that there was going to be a time and place for that and regardless of whether he wanted to do it here or not, Pars might've actually had a purpose during the tournament. Athren hadn't been sure how many saiyans had signed up and wanted to go but the more saiyans present, the more likely they actually had a chance at victory. It was only because of this that Athren held off, if the tournament hadn't been coming up so fast. Athren would've beat Pars into the dirt right here and right now and he would've made damn sure he couldn't walk away.
"I've already gotten my reward, I got to kill some bastard who thought he could kill me and if you weren't so weak, you would've already claimed yours too."
Athren muttered out loudly enough for Pars to hear him. If Pars wanted to talk his shit, he'd get to have Athren talking it right back. Athren had no issues escalating this shit. If they wouldn't fight now, it would build up and they'd fight soon enough and Athren was more than happy to remind Pars of his place, but right now wasn't the time for that. Even if Athren wanted to shut Pars up here and now. He was smarter than that and wasn't going to eliminate a saiyan from the tournament early. He couldn't help but remain standing there with his arms crossed as he spectated Pars deliver his words of taunts to his helpless opponent. While this was something that might've been entertaining to him, he couldn't help but have the same desires to put Pars through something similar. The loud mouth sure as shit had it coming after throwing out the previous words. Regardless of what he wanted, Athren wouldn't stood there and simply observed. He waited until Pars finally finished him off with the heel of his foot.
Hearing Pars speak now Athren simply nodded his head. While he was still holding back not punching him in the face, the best thing for them was to separate immediately. Pars wanted to go get some actual training and so did Athren. It would've been very beneficial for the two of them to go off on their own and train some more. After all, the tournament was coming up fast and they could both grow a hell of a lot stronger than they currently were. "I'd say we're done here. Go get to your training, tournaments coming up fast and we'll be leaving soon." Athren paused as he hovered up and off the ground. "I'll see you in a few days." He muttered before flying off into the air heading towards the Kiwi Springs.
While this current fight might've temporarily scratched the itch Athren had for a fight, it wouldn't fully please him. He wanted more and in fact, he craved even more. Fighting the Cerealian he did during the invasion really opened his eyes to what warriors could be capable of and he wanted more of that. That fight drew out everything he had just to remain standing and while he might've lost it, he got perspective into what he could become or what kind of fighters had truly been out there and he wanted to fight every single one of them. He was a warrior through and through, his entire body craved another fight like that but such a fighter had been so rare. While he was waiting for this next fighter to appear, there was only one thing Athren could continue to do consistently. He was going to have to train for it. He would keep training until he could match such a fighter, until he could stand toe to toe with them and not go down. In the short amount of time since he had gotten out of his healing pod he had gotten so much stronger already and he knew that he could continue to become so much stronger yet. He was only starting to tap into what he was actually capable of.
With his Super Heavy Weights still equipped, Athren was going to head to the Springs and continue his training sessions. It was likely that he'd start shadow boxing and practicing his moves but he also knew that he wanted to learn a few new techniques and perfect some of his current ones. Reducing the time his techniques took and also increasing the power seemed like a very beneficial thing for him going into the tournament. Not only that but he did want a variety moving forward so he could keep it fresh and keep his opponents surprised and guessing when it came to his techniques for he simply didn't want to be too predictable.
With his mind made up with the evening plans, Athren flew faster towards his destination as he was eager to get started. He had lot of work to do and only a short time until they departed for Earth. He wanted to brace himself for anything. He didn't know what kind of warriors he'd meet their or how strong they'd be and while he believed they'd be weak and easy to dispatch, he couldn't help but have a hunch that there might be a few outstanding warriors on the planet. While he wouldn't believe they were native to Earth, he would still want the challenge of fighting anybody strong enough. He just had to make sure he was prepared and ready and there was little time to do so.
