Another day, another chance to train. Weather was great, caravan was parked, Zaks was still off on Vegeta doing whatever she was doing, which still made Opherla worry for her mother being away but she still kept a positive outlook about it. Her mother was no weakling and she must have very solid reasoning for heading back to their old home at a time like this. With that tournament coming up, any chance to get stronger was time well spent in the eyes of the Lycan Saiyan. She knew her mother would return, it would just take some time.
Speaking of time, Opherla was wasting time pondering about her mother, she needed to get started with her training. Heading to her usual spot, she'd land in the middle of the clearing which was already worn with scratches and marks of Opherla's rigorous training and honing of her abilities as she looked around, smiling as she remembered when her mother finally found her in this very spot training like this, it was a memory so fresh, as were all her memories she had with her mother.
A week ago, before Zaks left for Planet Vegeta to hone her own training…
"So this is where you've been all this time on Earth, huh?" A familiar voice spoke up as Opherla's mother came through the breach in the forested area, having seen her daughter's handiwork at her training which was causing a lot of damage to the area she was in, as Zaks hummed and looked around the area, and gave a small chuckle. "Kinda tore up and boring at this point, dontcha think?"
"Haha… I guess you could say that." Opherla admitted with a nod of admittance to her mother's words about the situation. She did have a point, Opherla had worked this spot enough she was starting to make her very own crater in the forest from how hard she was training, but there wasn't any other place she knew at the time to go and train at. All she knew was this place right here, her special place that she held dearly in her heart, like she held her mother near to her heart. "But it's a place I made my own. It's a good place to relax, decompress, destress, and yeah, train too. Plus, there's a lake nearby to wash off in as well. So it's a great haven for me to train and hone myself, don't you agree?"
"I suppose that's true to a degree when you put it that way, kid… but…." Zaks would hum as she looked around yet again, a thoughtful look on her face as she looked back at Opherla and folded her arms. "Don't you think it's a bit rude you destroyed the home of the wildlife here?"
"Huh? Since when did you get sentimental about things we sometimes hunt to feed ourselves?" Opherla asked half jokingly, half seriously, as the joke came across well as Zaks laughed heartily from it, which caused Opherla to laugh as well, glad that Zaks saw the humor in what she asked instead of taking offense to it as Zaks finally stopped laughing after a good while as she was still smiling even after stopping.
"Oh kiddo that was amazing." Zaks chuckled. "And yeah, I guess it really is strange that I care about the wildlife all of a sudden but… I think you need to think about it like this. Everyone needs a home, right?"
"Yeah, I'd say so." Opherla nodded.
"Then how about instead of destroying homes… apply some training to building homes?" Zaks asked with a smile.
It was at that moment of the memory Opherla halted any and all training immediately. That… that was a very good point. The very area around Opherla housed many wildlife and other various creatures that called that place their home. What Opherla was training in was causing animals to leave and find other places to live. Back then, during their talk, there wasn't much time to think about it. Now that she was alone and had nothing else on her plate… now the thoughts of that reality struck her, and made her realize exactly what her training was doing… while she knew Zaks didn't want her to stop training, there were plenty of other places and other ways to do it. This… wasn't one of them.
"...Mom's right." Opherla would say at long last after her mind went down that trail for a long while, contemplating her choices. "I need to pick my spots out better… it might be this reasoning why Liek told me my style was unrefined… because I wasn't training hard enough…. If that's the case, then I need to improve my methods for both the wildlife… and myself." Opherla finished her line of outward thoughts as she would look around the place. No more would she train here in this near barren spot of forest. She would leave it alone, and find herself a new place to train, one where she could freely use her strength without fear of harming anything around her.
Taking to the sky, the next thing on her mind was to get over to Roshi's. Given the information she got from Liek and Zaks on him, training at his place sounded perfect! Nothing out there to destroy except the island and the house he lived in, and Opherla was more than capable of controlling her actions to where she wouldn't destroy the only place the old master had to live.
Speaking of places to live, Opherla noticed down below that a group of workers were in a heated argument in regards. Seems like most of them were being lazy on the job and the foreman was not happy at all. A foundation was laid out with minimal material buildup being done along with it as the foreman was shouting something about them being in some deep stuff with the people who contracted them, having wanted the house done by the end of the week, and the due date was coming closer and closer to that with no hope of recovery for the construction crew. Luckily, a friendly Lycan Saiyan just happened to catch wind of said conversation and she was more than willing to dive in and help. Opherla felt this was a great opportunity to put into practice the words of wisdom her mother gave to her before leaving her old training spot. Building up places instead of tearing them down.
Quickly getting to work while the boss scolded his employees, Opherla immediately dove in on quickly utilizing the supplies and building up the home before her, rapidly working on the house that was in progress of being built. What the construction workers procrastinated on in a week's time Opherla was getting done at rapid pace, and after only about two hours was she almost done with the entire house. With the crew returning with the foreman, they all looked in awe as Opherla finished the framework of the house, as she landed down, dusting off her hands as she observed the house as she hummed.
"I've no issues with the framework, the glass and electrical stuff on the other hand… that's gonna take me a while…" Opherla winced as she was preparing to go back into it, before she heard the clearing of a throat behind her as she turned around. "Oh, sorry about that. Had I noticed you guys I would have greeted you all."
"Miss, you've just pulled me and my boys outta one heck of a situation." The foreman admitted honestly to the young woman before him. "You're a real hard worker, and if ya can't handle glass and electricals, not a big deal, the boys and I can take that from here. You, missy, are a lifesaver and a half for us."
"Aww, you're far too kind, sir." Opherla remarked with a sheepish smile and a giggle to go with it as she rubbed the back of her head. "I just saw you guys in need and figured I would swing in and lend a helping hand."
"Your helping hand saved our hides big time. We'll send ya plenty of compensation for your hard work to ya eventually. But in the meantime, you can have this." The foreman explained, handing Opherla a scratch off ticket.
"A scratch off, huh?" Opherla asked.
"Yeah, the boys go after these way too much. Apparently if ya get a matching set, you can redeem it for a coupon for a place of your own." The foreman explained plainly.
"Really?" Opherla asked as she smiled and hummed to herself. "I think I'll try my luck at it, thanks!" She beamed at the man as she proceeded to pocket it for later, and headed off once more. Now that her good deed for the week was done, it was time to focus on something else. Namely, heading over to greet her, hopefully, new master in waiting. All the while, her mind turned back to the memory that led her to doing what she just did, the memory of a valuable lesson her mother taught her about having a place to call home, a place to stay and get away from the cares and worries of the world, a place… that could truly be called one's home. Opherla was no longer going to be careless about her training. From this day onward, she made a solemn vow: Earth WAS her home. And her mother's home. And as long as she and her mother dwelled on it, she would protect it with her very life and being, proclaiming herself as the Savior of Earth, the Defender of this Planet. The Protector of Earth, Opherla Luna. Now that had a very nice ring to it! And in order to become it… she had to become stronger. And that, of course, was where Master Roshi came in. If anyone could get her into form and shape, it was him… and hopefully, Opherla would not get turned away by him.
