The vast ocean stared back up at the Lycan Saiyan who stared down at the vast waves and innate currents of the sea as she flew over the waves and the roaring currents of the sea on her way to meet the Master who lived out in the middle of this oceanic desert of sorts, as Opherla was throwing around in her mind just if she could trust this old geezer of a teacher. According to what Liek told her, his thing was for young girls in bikinis… well, Opherla may not be in a bikini per se but looking down at her attire, she didn't exactly have the most modest coverings aside from her pants, as the sports bra, while covering a lot of the area, still clung to her skin enough that the room for imagination around her chest area didn't have a lot of leeway. Opherla hoped this didn't cause something to come between her and getting her training in, as she hoped the old man would look past her… assets, and look more to her power level and strength as his means of deducing if she was a good student or not.
It wasn't much longer of flying along while wandering in her thoughts that Opherla suddenly saw something in the distance coming into her vision, as she couldn't help but squint in an attempt to see it. It was an island! An island sitting out in the middle of the ocean just like Liek and Zaks both explained to her! It was miraculous to find it, as Opherla would proceed to make her way closer and closer to it, blinded to even look to see if the house was there upon it, before she landed down hard on the island formation out in the ocean, as she soon looked up, expecting a house… only to realize the place she landed was more or less a resting place for the time being considering there was nothing there but a spread of palm trees blowing in the ocean breeze, as Opherla groaned.
"You have to be KIDDING me!" Opherla yelled as she plopped her rear onto the ground, folding her arms and huffing as she sat on the sand, in the middle of the island, agitated that she missed the mark on finding the island that this old perverted master lived on. Still, she was getting a bit tired, flying all that distance without any rest in her Super Weighted Clothing, so she couldn't complain too much about it, she supposed. It was better than crashing into the ocean out of fatigue and tiredness and never being found by anyone. So, she'd give herself some time to catch her breath before going again. And at a moment like this, once again, her thoughts started running wild once more on various things that were on her mind.
Firstly, she thought of her mother, the one who had taken care of her and given her this life and the chance to even be here and be able to train for what her goals were for this life on this planet that she and Zaks now called home. Zaks had been gone to Planet Vegeta for quite some time now, and Opherla, despite the fact that she knew her mother was strong, could not help but still worry about her mother and wanted her to be alright. She couldn't take it anymore, she had to know what her mother was up to! She just couldn't stand this any longer! It had been too long! Reaching for her long distance communicator given to her by Zaks, she fumbled with the controls before it flipped to life, as Opherla's eyes, full of worry and fear, waited for the other end to pick up the incoming transmission.
"Kiddo? Is everything alright!? Do I need to come home!?" After a moment, the communicator came alive, as the worried tone of a concerned Lucetia Luna answered the phone, sounding like she was on the verge of crying almost as she conveyed that easily even whole planets away from her daughter. Opherla teared up at hearing her voice, as well as the fact that the feeling of worry and concern was shared between the mother and the daughter, as Opherla almost choked up, which Zaks heard. "I'm coming home right now, baby girl, I'll make sure whoever hurt you-"
"Mom… I'm okay… I'm okay now that I can hear your voice… my worry… my concern was about you… you've been gone for so long, mom, and I just… I just needed to hear your voice again, okay? I just needed to hear you speak to me. Because I was so worried about you…" Opherla admitted as she sobbed a bit sitting there on that island in the middle of the ocean, as she tried to hide the sounds of her crying from her mother on her end of the line, not wanting her mother to hear the fact that she was a bawling baby right at the moment while basically stranded, though not really stranded, on the island by herself.
"Oh Ophy…" Zaks would say from the other end of the line as she slightly choked up herself, but quickly contained it so she could be the supportive mother her daughter needed her to be right here and now. "I'm alright, kiddo. You ought to know better than to assume the worst when it comes to me at this point, don't you?" Zaks chuckled as she finished her quip to her daughter with a smile present on her face, which caused Opherla to bust into laughter, as Zaks laughed with her on her end of the line from Vegeta, the two of them sharing a moment of joy to chase away the concern and stress they had for worrying about the other from such a distance away.
"I guess I should have stuck to my gut feeling then. I knew I shouldn't be worrying about you but here we are, aren't we?" Opherla quipped back with a further giggle as she looked up to the sky, as if trying to look at her mother from Earth even though she couldn't do that literally at the moment. However, it was easy to picture her mother in the clear blue sky, looking back at her with the confident look on her face and bold spirited eyes looking at Opherla firmly. "...So when are you coming home, mom?" The Lycan Saiyan daughter of Zaks would ask as she was hopeful that Zaks would return to Earth very soon to see her daughter again.
"I'll be home soon, kid. Just gotta procure me a ship, and I'll be on my way I promise." Zaks spoke from her end of the line. She sounded just as longing in her tone as Opherla had in her own tone during their entire conversation, indicating just how much time apart from each other had caused the two of them to miss the other dearly and be worried for the other to this certain degree.
As the conversation was about to end, Opherla suddenly recalled why she was on this island to begin with as her ears and tail immediately perked up. She needed to get information from her mother about Roshi so she could get some training from him!
"Mom! Hey! I landed on an island here in the ocean to catch my breath, how do I get to Roshi's from here?" Opherla would ask. Her mother had mentioned training under Roshi to her in passing so Opherla hoped that Zaks would have the notion to tell her where she could find Roshi so she could train under him.
Zaks was a bit pensive at first on disclosing that information. At the end of the day, she knew Roshi was a pervert, and she knew that he'd likely take a nice and good look at Opherla. But as long as he looked but didn't touch, things should be all good, right? Yeah. Giving her directions from that island since Zaks had passed it on her way to his place, the mother and daughter bid one another farewell as Opherla would take off yet again for the horizon before her with the wind blowing again through her hair, aided by the sea breeze.
And there she was again. Flying over the lonely ocean, with only the ocean staring back in her face. Thinking about it now, Opherla really should have considered bringing Liek along or someone along to be company for her to chat with. Oh well, she could probably go ahead and use a Pre-Workout Mix. After all, if what she found out while training with Zaks was true, the stuff really worked magic and Opherla was more than eager to put it to use again as she gulped down one of her ten pack of mixes, more than ready to put it to incredible use.
After a long flight, Opherla finally saw it in the distance. A small house, appearing as a speck, resting in the middle of an island in the ocean unlike the one Opherla had passed on her way here. Opherla's eyes lit up upon seeing the beacon in the middle of the sea of loneliness and journeying, as the end of the journey was finally in sight for Opherla as she looked at the approaching house with a wide smile on her face, as she proceeded to launch high into the air and land down with a large crash, smiling as the waves around the island crashed into it, causing a massive ruckus all of a sudden…
"What the… what in tarnation was all that nonsense!? Can't an old man livin' out in the middle of nowhere get some gosh darn sleep around this place!?" A cranky old voice of a man exclaimed from within the house, as Opherla immediately tensed up upon hearing that from the old man. He sounded incredibly angry for sure and the last thing she wanted was a bad first impression as she gulped a bit upon hearing the agitated footsteps from inside.
"Now what in the world did I have ordered to cause such a racket… and more importantly who the heck is the clumsy girl always messing up the deliveries like this… now ehm… pizza? No, no, I didn't order no pizza. Magazines, maybe? No… no, I ordered those yesterday… unless the full order didn't come in! In that case I'll just-" The door to the house finally opened, revealing a man in Hawaiian themed clothes, complete from the shirt to the shorts and even the sandals, as he had on a pair of sunglasses over his eyes, and held a staff which was likely his cane in his hand, as he saw Opherla before him, and immediately his jaw dropped, gasping for air before he suddenly gushed from his nose. "WOOOOWIIIIIE! THE GIRLS JUST KEEP GETTIN BETTER AND BETTER IN THIS DAY AND AGE! WOOO HOO HOO HOO!" The old man exclaimed as he immediately ran up to Opherla who immediately got defensive as if the old man was ready to cop a feel as she immediately raised her guard.
"Nah nah, nah nah! Stay back! BACK!" Opherla exclaimed, which released her ki a bit as the old man was stopped in his tracks, as he skidded on his feet, managing to stay in place despite the power surge as his glasses got slightly tipped off his face, as he shook his head from the sudden power boost as Opherla immediately blushed and gasped in embarrassment. "I-I'm sorry, sir! I-I-I didn't mean to-!"
"Wowie girly… …What kinda power you hiding under them weights, eh?" The old man asked as Opherla immediately got two feelings at the same time from it. The first? She felt proud that the old man acknowledged the fact she was a strong woman and that was good news, maybe he wanted to train her. The other feeling?
Even more compounded embarrassment because Opherla realized she had weights in ALL the clothes she was wearing right now! Taking all her weights off would mean…!
"THESE ARE THE ONLY THINGS I GOT!" Opherla shouted, smacking the old man upside the head as he yelped in pain from it, as the slap only seemed to daze him and not do more to him, which Opherla was thankful for, sure, but she once again blushed. "I'm so sorry, Master Roshi!"
"So ya know my name, do ya…?" The old man remarked after shaking off the daze as he stroked his beard, seeming to be in deep thought. "Wait a gosh darn second… your physique… it reminds me of someone…" He took a good and long look at Opherla. Long enough it was starting to get a bit uncomfortable, but Opherla didn't wanna go and strike Roshi yet again out of embarrassment as she did her best to endure it, as suddenly, Roshi snapped his fingers, seeming to remember something! "I got it! Are you related to that Lucetia woman that dropped by a few weeks ago?"
"Lucetia? No, not really. I share her name and she may be my mother, but only by adoption… my former parents weren't… kind to me when I was younger, let's leave it at that." Opherla admitted to the master before her. "My adopted mother taught me everything I know. From how to fight, to how to survive, how to live on my own…"
"I don't need the whole backstory. Now I understand what I'm workin' with." Roshi spoke as his tone suddenly changed, having sensed her eagerness underneath her embarrassment and honesty. "You're a sprightly young woman brimming with energy to fight, ain't ya? I can tell you're eager to prove something to me."
"You saw through me incredibly quickly… I'm surprised." Opherla admitted to the old master, not expecting him to have seen through her so quickly like that, as she looked at him with the eagerness now. "But yes, I was told by Liek that you might be willing to train me."
"Ah, so you're friends with Liek, are ya? Mmm. In that case, I got even more reason to trust the fact that you came to me just wantin' to learn somethin'. In that case, lassie, go ahead and show me what ya got, why don't ya?" Roshi offered to Opherla as he gestured to the area around them for her to show her stuff.
Smiling and nodding eagerly, Opherla proceeded to close her eyes, focusing herself, concentrating on her surroundings so she knew where the house was. She was more than ready to begin this in earnest, and show Master Roshi just exactly what she was capable of. This was her moment, this was her time, she was ready to get this going! Shooting her eyes open, Opherla would immediately go into her training regiment, pushing her body to its limits even in the weights as she quickly threw out kicks and punches at rapid rates while dashing around the place, as she showcased her speed and her agility along with her strength as shockwaves emitted from her punches, as Roshi would sit up his lawn chair to watch her, watching her closely despite his lounging back, focusing on her movements and stratagems, as he even watched her bring out swords. This intrigued Roshi to see, considering the fact that most fighters wouldn't opt for the blade these days. With an emphatic showing, Opherla showed off Okami Dengeki-sen to Roshi, as Roshi seemed to be mildly impressed by it given the fact his eyebrows raised a good deal, before Opherla continued her punches and kicks a little bit more before she proceeded to look out to the ocean. The damned ocean that had caused her so much trouble getting here to even see Master Roshi, only staring at it to keep her company in the vast expanse of area as she huffed. Now she had a chance to strike back, taking her claws and beginning to form the Gateway. The ocean, who had left her only the coolness of a sea breeze, would soon learn her wrath in this situation, as she reeled her fist back once the formation was complete. Shouting her attack name, Opherla punched into the attack and formed the Okami Gateway, as the diamond shaped beam carved through the ocean waves like butter, as Opherla panted, having worked up a sweat from the showcase as she turned around to Roshi after she had finished, waiting his appraisal patiently… and the response she got was beyond baffling.
"When was the last time you took a bath, kid?" Roshi asked Opherla, as Opherla was about to strike him out of angered embarrassment, only for this time, Roshi blocked her blow, causing Opherla's eyes to widen, as she immediately drew back and bowed before Roshi.
"S-Sorry Master Roshi! I, Opherla Luna, swear not to make that mistake again!" Opherla apologized fervently which caused the old man to laugh at her, which made Opherla perplexed as she looked up at the joyous old man, who got from his chair and handed her his cane, as he looked over the ocean, took in a deep breath… and cupped his hands to his side.
"Kaaa… me……" Roshi yelled as the surge of strength caught Opherla off guard, watching in awe as the old man's power leapt even over hers in her weighted clothing as she saw him charge up his trademarked signature attack!
"Ha… me…..!" Roshi yelled as the surge caused the ocean to roar in challenge, rushing for the island, angry after Opherla had struck it with such a fierce blow, and wasn't about to let the old geezer sitting on the shore to do the same! And yet, undeterred, and certainly unwavering, Roshi threw his hands forward to unleash the might he gathered!
"HAAAAAAAAAA!"
With an emphatic yell, a blue beam carved through the ocean that once threatened the island, as it soared into the distance and scanned into the horizon, gleaming as it by far bested Opherla's attempt to make her attack look good. She had even improved the Okami Gateway and this technique still made it look incredibly puny in comparison! Opherla was absolutely stunned by this sudden revelation, as Roshi smiled, looking back at her as he walked up to her with a chuckle.
"I wasn't talking about your smell. People who only shower are always in a rush. You wanna know what being in a rush to the top gets ya, Opherla?" Roshi asked as he suddenly grabbed his cane, and struck her in the back!
"YAAAGH!" Opherla shouted, holding her back in pain as despite the power level difference they seemingly had, the old man had struck a hard spot that caused Opherla to be reeling from his strike, and her back was ACHING from it.
To prove his point again, he took his cane and struck her knee, her shoulder, her other knee, her ankle on the opposite leg, and finally her other shoulder as Opherla's entire body froze up in pain, as it hurt so much Opherla couldn't even so much as let out a yelp! Cracking his knuckles however, Roshi soon adopted a stance before he proceeded to work his hands over the spots he hit, as multiple crunching and cracking sounds that while semi horrendous sounded really good and felt really good made Opherla bend to the old geezer's mercy as what he was doing was nothing short of reconstructing her body after he had completely smashed it with his cane! After his reconstructive massage therapy, Opherla suddenly felt herself loosen up some, as she gasped, looking at herself in awe, then looking at Roshi, who merely smiled and gave her a singular gesture. To do what she just did a second time.
Opherla, nodding, proceeded to get ready to do the same training regiment. And immediately upon starting, the benefits were IMMEDIATELY noticed by her! She was moving at double the speed! Hitting with double the precision! Recovering and shifting with twice the accuracy and agility, she was moving like Liek had moved against her! She was bounding across the island in a mere blink, she was making laps around the Kami House thrice as fast as her previous showcase, as she punched and kicked the air in new vigor and strength as she proceeded to perform Okami Dengeki-sen once more, this time with even more acuity and precision, and continued her imaginary sparring more, rapidly moving around the island and even splitting some coconuts, all while Roshi smiled, holding out his hand to catch a coconut half that Opherla split, proceeding to take his drink and pour it into it, placing the straw and umbrella from his drink into it and sip from it as Opherla finished up, as Roshi was now intent on watching her… in that instant, a storm brewed up. A nasty one out at see. A massive hurricane, forming out there, and heading right for the Kami House.
Opherla looked at it with slight fear in her eyes. She hadn't been trained to deal with an actual hurricane before! But she heard the affirmation "ahem" come from behind her, as she turned. Roshi, standing up, his glasses off, gave her a nod, wanting her to try and use her signature move to defeat this massive storm before her, and tame it using her own technique first. Only then would he grant to her the right to learn the prestigious move of the Turtle School. The Kamehameha. In order to master a move of legends like that…
Opherla must master her own moves. Her own flaws. Her own strengths. Her own personality. Her own being…. Her own techniques. Opherla. Must master herself.
Opherla suddenly felt herself well with confidence and pride, as she looked at Roshi, her gaze narrowing as she nodded back, as she took her stance… and this time, she didn't make a gateway. She reeled back her fist, as energy charged into it immediately, her left hand outstretched to aim, while her right hand glowed with mighty strength as the hurricane closed in on the Kami House, as it angrily glared down upon Opherla to punish her and Roshi for their attacks upon it! But Opherla would have none of it, her eyes sparking as suddenly, without even howling, she entered her Lycan Boost state, suddenly causing Roshi to skid back as he looked on in shock for only a moment, but only smiled wider upon seeing the power boost, as Opherla's eyes locked onto the hurricane, before she roared, not even declaring the move name, roaring at the top of her lungs as she punched forward!
The punch sent a shockwave that barreled through the storm, splitting it in half instantly, as Opherla smiled, her fist still glowing as suddenly, the diamond beam came alive from her fist, as it fired and engulfed the entire storm, and blew it and dispersed it at the same time across the ocean surface as it split once again from the attack, as the ocean stayed split apart for a good long while, as if in total shock of the ultimate defeat it just received, before it slowly fell to the ocean surface, accepting its defeat at the hands of the student of the Turtle Teacher, as Roshi approached Opherla, ready to finish his lesson.
"Rushing gets you burnt up. Tuckered out. Cramped up. Of no good before you even get close to that finish line of life. But taking your time, relaxing, seeing the nature around you, taking everything in that you see and learn from others, spending time in meditation… Opherla, that is what a true training experience is about. It's not just about pushing your body. It's also about taking care of it. I mean, how do ya think I got to be 300 years old?" Roshi asked her with a big ol grin and a laugh.
Opherla didn't laugh with him. She merely turned around, looking at him with a grateful smile on her face, before she proceeded to bow in respect to her master, as Roshi was surprised by this gesture, but nonetheless he chuckled again, and bowed with her in respect to his student, as he looked at her, and she at him as they rose back to their feet.
"You understand you're ready now, don't you?" Roshi asked Opherla with an expecting gaze on his face.
"I'd be honored to learn it from you, Master." Opherla spoke with a bright smile on her face as Roshi nodded back at her with a pleased grin.
"Then it's settled. Come back next week, and I'll teach you my most prized move I've ever taught to any pupil. The Kamehameha." Roshi spoke with a bright grin. "Oh, one other thing, dear Opherla… Would you humor an old man and show up in a weighted bikini next time please?" Roshi would suddenly ask as the fantasy immediately hit his mind, which got him a slap from Opherla as he groaned. "I asked too much, huh…"
"Pretty much. Not happening on your life. My mother would KILL me." Opherla remarked, not even wanting to imagine that scolding if she had that happen to her and her mother found out… she was not gonna have that chance happen, ever. EVER!
"Ohohoho, well can't blame me for trying, and I do respect your modesty, young Opherla." Roshi would say with a laugh, as Opherla couldn't help but start laughing along with him as the day soon began turning to evening, which meant it was time for Opherla to come home. Taking to the sky, Opherla would proceed to head back to the mainland, eager with the things she had learned today from Roshi, and more than ready to learn the technique he had made so well known be part of her own arsenal. The Kamehameha… such a fabled technique, you'd have to live under a rock not to know it… and Opherla was more than eager to learn the technique for herself. Next week. Next week couldn't come any faster…
