Frost and snow stretched out as far as the eye could see, the frigid wind biting the flesh of any where dared explore the inhospitable white landscape. The glacial wastelands that stretched out over the far north of the world where an intimidating sight and nearly inaccessible to the people of the world, and yet they did not remain unexplored. Even before humanity had invented spaceflight brave and intrepid explorers had found their way to the frozen expanse and crossed it’s hazardous terrain. Although the decades of snow had long buried the much of evidence of these expeditions, some yet stood the test of time; markers signalling the valiant efforts of those courageous men and women.
But all that meant little to the speck darting about in the sky. To him this region was just another challenge to test himself and his training. Azure eyes darted to and fro, tracking the movements of imagined foes as he lashed out with both hand and feet in equal accord. Visible shockwaves thundered in the air with each blow, blasting snow and sleet away with each strike.
There was no great meaning to his actions, merely the desire to grow even stronger. He still had his benchmarks he was aiming for; both Zaks and his Grandmother remained vastly stronger then himself. He wanted to catch up to the both of them and then reach even further beyond. Additionally he wanted to ensure the preservation of the Fury way, and to do that he had to ensure he was strong enough to demonstrate to any who saw him that the Fury was was worth their time.
And so Liek had sought out the desolate place, the perfect training ground where he could push himself without risk of harming anyone innocent.

"Glacier wastelands" the locals called them.
Cute.
It hadn't been a few months and already Frozen was starting to feel somewhat nostalgic for home. Don't get him wrong, Earth was proving itself to be QUITE intriguing. The number of different phenotypes of a single species was remarkable enough to say nothing of the seemingly infinitely varied environments. It was certainly a grab-bag of possibilities, this planet... Only, it lacked the... extremes Frozen was used to. His homeworld, and many of his other favorite worlds within his empire made the northern and southern poles of this planet look like summer get-aways by comparison. The blizzards were few and only dropped powdered snow upon an individual. There were no glacier-sized ice-whales breaching through twenty feet of frozen salt water, nor were there hail the size of boulders falling from the sky with which to train... No, it seemed as if the worst this planet had to offer was the obscuring one's vision... and yet, people called this place a wasteland.
Obviously, despite their versatility, locals of this world lacked any kind of meaningful natural resistance to extreme elements without substantial technological assistance. Frozen would have to remember this fact when the time came.
For now, The distant lord would take his time soaking up as much nostalgia as he could, spreading his arms and allowing the snow to fall over him. His first form, somewhat modest in height, collected snow on the curved trough of his horns, the feeling of it's weight reminding him of home on one of the more mild days. He supposed the equivalent for these people would be a place rich with flora, the sun overhanging it all with it's yellow light beating upon one's back. For him, those environments, while hardly inhospitable, were merely... lacking in something that the cold, iciness possessed. There was too much going on, so much grass and dirt... For all of Earth's variety, he could not give equal praise to it's plant life. Here in the arctic, however, a disciplined, analytical mind could pick out certain shapes, structures in the ice, even seeing sculptures yet freed from the excess buried in the glaciers if one were inclined to pick them out. Granted, they would never be as GRAND in scale as those back home, but Frozen could imagine himself here when he wasn't observing, a nice place to spoil himself in exploring his artistic talents.

Although inhospitable to most forms of life that dwelt on the blue marble, it wasn’t like the Glacier Wasteland was completely devoid of life. Various kinds of life called the coastal regions of the glaciers home, fish of all shapes and sizes, having long ago developed a natural anti-freeze enzyme that made them immune to the cold swam in the oceans, predatory mammals stalked between the snow dunes as birds, both flying and flightless, used the coasts as places to rest as they sought their prey in the chilly waters. And that was just the snapshot of life that Liek was aware of.
He was certain there was more that he simply didn’t know about.
But in the far depths of the wastes? Life was non-existent. Nothing from Earth had any business being out there, no more then he himself did.
It was for this reason that the sensation of a life force caught the young hybrid’s interest. It stood out like a light in the dark. For a moment the young man wondered if some brave, or stupid, human had decided to brave the wastes, but he quickly discarded the thought. Humans who came here typically did not do so alone. At the least they brought with them sled dogs, making it very far without them was basically impossible for humans. Ceasing his shadow sparring the young man focused on the sensation and noted that it was actually respectably strong, definitely not a regular human explorer or dare-devil.
His mind burning with curiosity the youth decided that further training could wait and accelerated himself through the air in the direction of the energy he was sensing.
After some travel he arrived in the area to find that the origin of the energy was standing in the middle of a blizzard! Well, whoever they where they certainly not a normal human, and that just drove his curiosity even further. Just how was this person dealing with the cold so well? In his own case his Energy Cloud was helping insulate him against the weather, but what was this person doing?
With the desire to know driving him the youth flew into the blizzard towards the source of the energy he was feeling. Soon enough he was able to see the source through the frozen rain to find the figure was a short man with blue skin and white armour, or at least something that looked like armour. They also had horns. For a brief moment the young man wondered if this person was a demon, but a quick check of his energy made it clear he likely wasn’t, this person didn’t give off the same dark sensation that Opherla or that pure blood had.
Getting close enough to be heard over the blizzard he called out, his tone welcoming and friendly, “Hello there! I’m Liek, nice to meet you!” He offered a smile, “You don’t seem to be from around here?”

Frozen blinked as a voice, a coherent, living voice, reached over the howls of the arctic winds to meet his ears. Looking over his shoulder, he caught sight of what looked to be a human boy, standing among the freezing ice and snow as if he were hardly bothered at all, his clothes, in Frozen's estimation, hardly made to survive this environment. He knew already that the natives of this planet were not unfamiliar with this part of their planet. They had gear that, while crude, allowed them some measure of resistance to the icy winds of their planet's poles. This one, however, stood before Frozen as if it were the most natural thing in the world, his voice neither quivering or petering off.
...Unusual for his species, Frozen judged. Could he be one of the stronger examples of his kind? Regardless, he would greet Frozen with cordiality befitting of a commoner, noting how unusual Frozen's appearance was. The changeling would smile kindly at the stranger, finding some level of humor in his observation. No, he supposed there wouldn't be many of his kin on this planet, would there, After all, if Frozen found their arctic poles as refreshing as a summer reserve, how would the more sensitive among them view the rest of this world?
"And you. My name is Frozen." The reptilian would turn and bow his head to the stranger. "And yes, I am not from this planet." He considered saying more, that he was here for this inconspicuous reason or that inconspicuous reason... A tourist, perhaps. Maybe here visiting a friend...
No, such avenues of conversation would lead to more questions, some, perhaps, he wasn't yet ready to answer. He had only just arrived here, after all. Instead Frozen would gesture at the stranger's clothes, flashing something of a concerned look.
"Are you certain those clothes are suitable for this place?" Frozen questioned, gesturing with his eyes at the "Frozen wasteland" around them. "I understand most species on this planet would find an arctic biome quite inhospitable."

His smile widened as the man answered with equal friendliness, “Frozen, huh?” He chuckled a little, “Got to say, that is the perfect name for someone who hangs out in blizzards!” The young man kept his stance easy, one hand on his hip as he took in the Changeling’s words, namely the confirmation he wasn’t from Earth. While a part of the young man had suspected it he hadn’t wanted to assume it, especially given his own origins. After all, it would have been the height of rudeness to assume Frozen was from another world just from his appearance alone when in fact he was native born.
Still, with the revelation a part of the youth knew, as a member of the Earth Defence Force, he’d have to dig deeper as to why Frozen was here. But since the man wasn’t causing any troubles he didn’t see a need to press the issue straight away. Just from the impression he was getting, between the feel of his energy and passive telepathy, which gave nothing deeper then the emotional impression he was leaving on Frozen, he was fairly confident that the man wasn’t here to cause trouble.
So, while the youth was both curious and duty bound to learn why Frozen was here he let the matter sit for the time being. After all, with a friendly conversation the chances where the topic would come up naturally at some point.
Instead the youth nodded at the man’s observations, “You aren’t wrong. The average human wouldn’t last long around here dressed like this. I’m a bit of a special case in more ways then one.” His grin remained open and as he held his free hand aloft and used some of his concentration on making his Energy Cloud more visible, creating an emerald shimmer around his body, “This keeps the cold out and the heat in.” He then rubbed his chin, “Now I’m curious how you do it? Is it some technique like me? Or biological? Do your people produce an enzyme with anti-freeze properties?” He looked the man up and down, “Hmm… doesn’t look like it would be a layer of fat for insulation…” The young man hummed as he pondered the puzzle.

You know, Frozen never really noticed the connection between the naming conventions of his species and the environments in which they lived. The observation forced a small chuckle out of the changeling. Well, at least some kind of connection was made, if only through a crude attempt at humor. The boy would then comment on how he was somewhat special among his kind, granting him some kind of resistance to the cold. This got a cocked eyebrow from the reptilian, him looking the stranger over. Nothing was obvious on the surface... Some kind of naturally occurring anti-freeze in the blood, perhaps? Perhaps his body-temperature ran warmer? No. Frozen narrowed his eyes, catching sight of some kind of field shimmering around the boy, him remarking how THIS, whatever it was, was keeping his body warm! Well... that was unexpected. Brief scans of Earth indicated that the technology necessary to replicate something like this was non-existent on the planet! Crude space-travel and general metropolitan civilization-centric technologies were expected with military technology still revolving around basic projectile launchers and laser/missile based weaponry.
...But this...? What appeared to be bio-containment field...? That was so far beyond Earth's technological projections that it was laughable! This lead to one of two possibilities: Either this Liek-creature wasn't a native to Earth at all and was, in fact, a similarly mammalian species to Humans, or Earth was developing so radically in pockets of it's society, they might as well be an entirely different people all together. Before Frozen could decide which was more fascinating, Liek would then throw the question back onto him, questioning how Frozen himself was able to sustain himself sub-zero temperatures. He blinked, surprised how... on-the-ball this boy was.
"Naturally, my species find temperatures like these quite pleasurable." Frozen remarked, raising a hand up. He watched as snow fell upon his palm... and did not melt. "In fact, I would consider today to be temperate for my kind. My world is much, much colder than this... so much that perhaps your shield might struggle to protect you." He smiled pleasantly at the boy before lowering his hand, lightly shaking it as a small pile of snow splattered off onto the ground.
"Well, since we are getting to know each other, I suppose the next logical question would be: What species are you?" He looked over the boy inquisitively, tracing his figure from his feet, to the spikes of his hair, and down again. "You resemble the native species on this world and yet... you possess technology far beyond even the most advanced examples these... humans can muster. It is quite impressive, actually." Frozen would approach the boy, still looking him over, perhaps to find the generator forming this field. It had to be technology... Ki-projection was even less common on worlds like these than hyper-advanced pockets of civilization among less advanced neighbors. "From what world to you hail? Is it near? I do not believe there are any other inhabited worlds near this one..." WC: 500

Although Liek was largely ignorant of the state of the universe in the present, having spent his entire life on the humble blue world he called home, he wasn’t totally clueless. He was well aware of the existence of aliens, including the fact he was one, and just how weird and wonderful they all where. Most of this knowledge was several centuries out of date and fragmented, mostly in the form of what records the J Numbers recovered. And then it was limited only to what the Fury had been involved in up until the collapse of the Empire, and the Fury didn’t even find Earth until several centuries after the collapse.
Among those fragments the youth had learned of great xenophobic insectoids who had once tried to enslave every other species they encountered out of paranoia, and their kin who sought to exterminate all life that wasn’t themselves, who even called the slaughter a kindness since if gave the slaughtered the chance to be reincarnated as one of their own. He learned of a tiny furry species who reproduced and grew at an incredible pace, able to go from dozens to billions in just months, and managed not to destroy themselves from overpopulation by developing a culture in which suicidal recklessness was the norm. He even learned of a species composed entirely of living crystal! A methodical species that where naturally inclined to serve as unbiased arbiters in disputes. And so many more.
“Man, the universe is awesome!” He grinned, “There is so many kinds of life out there! I hope I can go out there and explore it some day, and see some of it myself!” Looking back at the reptilian he nodded along, “You’re home sounds like a place most things would struggle to survive.” His saiyan blood heated at the idea and prompted him to say, “But, it does sound like it would be a fun place to train!”
Liek considered how best to answer the question that was directed his way, before settling on honesty, at least partially, “I’m a half-Saiyan.” he wasn’t sure how this being would react to him mentioning that the other half was demon, so for now he figured he’d pretend to be half-human. He then added, “That said I was raised here on Earth by a human. Sadly, she has passed on already.”
He looked at the green glow around him and smiled, “Well… you’re partially right. This field is actually a martial art technique based on a technology. The quick and dirty explanation is I use Ki to replicate the effect.”

Frozen cocked his head to the side as the boy jubilantly expressed his joy and surprise at the discovery of Frozen's apparent uniqueness. Perhaps it was because, on the planet where Frozen grew up, the ability to survive in extreme environments was common! Even the vacuum of space wasn't anathema to his people... In fact, Frozen recalled that some of the non-royals commissioned a station without an atmosphere at all so that they might meet without having to parlay with the other species with which they lived. Space wasn't exactly comfortable to their people, not like a nice icy afternoon might be, but there was something to be said for the guaranteed isolation granted by a vacuum.
"I believe... you've already have." Frozen noted, smiling oddly at the boy. "And this planet is also quite the repository for different species, is it not? After all, you yourself are present here. I have also noted at least five different sentient species on this planet to say nothing of their artificial life-forms. It would seem that the remarkable qualities of space come to you."
That was when the boy, Liek, revealed that he wasn't a human-looking alien... exactly, but merely HALF of one! He was a half-saiyan and this immediately got his attention. The changeling looked over the boy with renewed interest, though he still couldn't exactly see any Saiyan-identifying features upon him... Perhaps his human traits took precedent. Yes, that made more sense... Saiyans were well known for their abrasive, anti-social, and dismissive behaviors whereas humans were much more amicable to conversation... Yes, that made more sense...
"Ah, well, my condolences to you and yours." Frozen stated, bowing his head in respect to Liek. "It is never easy to lose a parent." Liek would then reveal that he was, in fact, using Ki to replicate that shield effect! Before the previous revelation, this would have STUNNED Frozen! Ki-usage was rare among any species as the harnessing of energy as a weapon was usually left to machines. ...But now that he knew this kid was a Saiyan, well... it was much more obvious as to why he could create the barriers he could.
"Indeed, well, that's quite something." Frozen mused, cupping his chin between his finger and thumb. "I understand it is a rare thing indeed when a Saiyan will chose to... pair with a human... or any alien for that matter."

The young man couldn’t say the reptilian alien was wrong. Earth really did seem to be a microcosm of intergalactic migrants of all shapes and sizes, and that’s before factoring the sheer diversity of humanity itself! Human’s alone ranged from the common hairless ape all the way to bipedal animals of all descriptions. Sadly it seemed that in the era before the unification of the Earth these morphological differences lead to many conflicts among the humans, but since the unification the people had learned to look past such differences. Which was probably why so many aliens came to Earth now.
“True enough!” He smiled, “Still, I’d love to explore the stars. To see places the likes of which can’t be found here on Earth, like your world, or one that’s more volcano-y! Or… well, you probably get what I mean right? And there’s all the stuff in space itself!” waving his arms excitedly he went on, “I mean, most of it would probably go over my head, but all the sciency stuff the scientists could figure out if they could get a closer look at black holes and stuff!” rubbing the back of his head he added, “I still like learning that stuff, even if I don’t really get how it all works!”
Liek nodded as he said, “Thanks.” When the reptilian offered his condolences.
He then shrugged, “I don’t know much about how Saiyans do things, honestly. I only know that my parents didn’t get along. The old man stole me away from my mother to spite her and got himself killed in the process.” The young man’s tone carried a hint of amusement, as he did genuinely find it amusing. “I mean, if my old man was anything like what I’ve heard Saiyans are like from others, then a pathetic death like that was coming his way, anyway.”
He’d heard from Zaks and her crew that most Saiyans seek glorious ends in the heat of battle, and if that was indeed the case, he could only imagine how humiliating it was for his good-for-nothing father to die bedridden from crashing his pod. The thought brought a slight smirk to his face.

Frozen, while unsurprised by the boy's backstory (domestic disputes, while unfortunate, were all-too-common among the rare interspecies relationship), he was somewhat caught off guard by the boy's venom for his parent. It was his understanding that most species had a sort of mixed-feeling dynamic with this sort of thing, even when one of the parents, to them, were clearly in the wrong. After all, it WAS his parent and, to some degree, the children of parents were usually instilled with some modicum of pre-programmed reverence for the person. He supposed this Liek-fellow was perhaps old enough to overcome such a feeling... but still, wishing death upon one's progenitor was unusual indeed. The changeling was uncertain how to respond to this. How DOES one respond to someone being content with the death of a parent. Even he, while having ended the existence of his own parents, wasn't exactly unaffected by their deaths. It was NECESSARY, yes... but those were still the creatures that spawned him and gave him a royal upbringing. ...And then there was the subtle, yet distinct venom in Liek's voice for those who shared half of his bloodline: Saiyans. Apparently they were unwelcome in this part of the galaxy, at least as far as this kid is concerned. While not exactly unsurprising, Frozen himself had one or two of the ape-like aliens employed within the peace-keeping force of his empire. Aggressive and haughty, sure. Perhaps on one or two occasions, they tested bounds they should probably leave unstrained but the way Liek spoke of them, it was uncertain if this was due to his own personal experience or something more.
"Ahem. Yes, well..." Frozen coughed, clearly feeling awkward after Liek's proclamation. "It is a shame your family suffered this way." What else could he say? Offer advice? Perhaps some kind of consolation? Frozen feared an attempt to reach a hand out might be seen as insulting. After all, this seemed like an old wound and this kid DID have Saiyan genetics. Empathy might come off as pity to the lad, especially with the memory of his now-deceased father fresh in his memory. Instead, Frozen folded his arms behind his back, sighed, and craned his neck to the side, popping it. At this point, Frozen could do one of two things. He could attempt to carry on this line of questioning which, he suspected, would lead to some unfortunate and even more awkward avenues, or he could offer what most Saiyans seemed to hunger for and, perhaps, start a fresh line of conversation once the mood had settled.
"Hm. Liek, would you do me a favor and indulge me a while?" Frozen would turn to the boy, raising a fist towards him in a polite, yet challenging manner. "It has been some time since I've practiced my combat skills." WC: 470

If Liek where asked about his outburst later he’d admit, with some shame, that he hadn’t realised how much resentment he harboured towards his late father. It was probably because he’d never really had a means to vent about it before, and hadn’t put very much thought into it besides. But learning all that he had about Saiyan society from Zaks and her merry band of mercenaries had put his limited knowledge of his father into a new perspective, one that made an already unfavourable view even more negative. It also made it apparent how isolated he was, although having a rapport with Zaks and her crew, and with his Earth Defence Force allies, he didn’t have anyone he considered close enough to truly confide in. Perhaps this outburst was a sign of the tensions building within?
Clearing his head of those thoughts by shaking it he latched onto the reptilians offer, “So… a sparring match?” His lips rose into a smile again as he nodded, “I’m up for that!” Maybe that was the Saiyan in him, but a good spar was always welcome. Besides that, the current locale was perfect for throwing down, as far as Liek knew, given the lack of any life that could get hurt. He wondered how strong this guy was, he certainly looked strong, and the youth was well aware that people could hide their strength, so he took what he was feeling as only a rough guess.
Sliding into his stance the youth waited eagerly.

"A... sparring match, yes." Frozen agreed. A playfight. Training. Whatever word Liek would prefer to use. Still, Frozen would smile as Liek agreed to his terms, the Changeling then raising a finger, hoping to get the boy's attention. "Excuse me while I prepare myself. I warn you, however. You might consider this... shocking."
With his warning said, Frozen would suddenly hunch over, his jaw clenched, his body clenching up as if suddenly SEIZED from inside! With a ROAR, Frozen's body would PULSATE, swelling to almost THREE TIMES it's original size! His legs would then SPROUT upwards, increasing their length, followed by his arms! His body-armor would twist and expand to cover more of his body, particularly his shoulder-guards which shot outward, resembling the pauldrons of medieval armor! Finally, Frozen's head would snap back and grow, much as his body did, horns sprouting alongside the original set until... What stood WELL OVER seven feet tall was something only vaguely resembling the modest-sized space-reptilian that had stood there before.
"Ah, forgive me." Frozen would sigh softly, cracking his neck and rolling his shoulders. Notably, his voice had dropped much deeper. "This is my Battle-Form, the one I prefer to take when engaging in lighter conflicts." Frozen could already feel the strain of this form start to wear on his body, causing a serious expression to fall over Frozen's face. He hadn't needed to take this form since liberating his kingdom from it's former owners... and he could feel all that unused time in his bones. It was almost like a suit of power armor: The power OBVIOUSLY superior... but also the weight of it. Perhaps in time, it would become as natural to him as his passive form... But for now, he needed to treat it like a weapon: Something to be respected, not flaunted.
"Well, now that I've prepared myself..." Frozen mused, dropping low into a combat-stance. "Shall we?"
If Liek stated his readiness, Frozen would LUNGE towards the boy, throwing a massive straight punch right at the center of his face! He put a massive amount of his own weight and speed behind this blow, hoping to send the boy rocketing across the arctic in one meaty, thuggish blow! Frozen wasn't exactly what one would consider a... martial artist. He was very comfortable in his power and knew how to use his body, but he wasn't what you would call "skilled" in combat. This discomfort he had in using his forms was proof enough of this... if his style of battle doesn't give it away. ___________

Shocking? What was he planning? A part of Liek hoped it was a pun and Frozen had some unexpected lightning abilities. While he would find himself disappointed when it turned out that was not the case, what he did end up seeing did indeed live up to the warning! The youth gawked as the short man shot up in a sudden and dramatic growth spurt, even sprouting extra horns and gnarlier armour to go along with the new stature.
He grinned and laughed excitedly at the sight, “Ho man! That’s awesome, Frozen!” Part of the thrill was not only the dramatic physical change that the reptilian had undergone, but the massive increase in power that came along with it! From what he was sensing the new power put the reptilian much closer to the youth’s own restricted power! The parity of strength excited the young man even more!
“Oh, yeah!” He stated excitedly, “Let’s go, Frozen!” He assented.
The now massive alien’s first action was a lunging punch, aimed squarely at the young man’s face! While he saw it coming and could possibly dodged it, he deliberately allowed the older man to land the blow, using his Energy Cloud to soften the blow, and allowed himself to be flung across the artic landscape. While probably not the most elegant or sound methods of doing so, it did allow the youth to gauge the older man’s intent and ability. Smiling, he could tell he was true to his word and this wasn’t a high stakes fight, just two warriors exchanging blows for the hell of it.
A single punch, though, wasn’t enough to tell the young man how skilled the elder was.
Sure, at least, that he could have some fun with this fight, without any pointless stakes, he smiled and Cloud Folded back in front of the massive changeling and launched in with a punch that was a feint, quickly followed up with a kick aimed at the side of the changeling’s chest, targeted towards whichever side he tried to block with, following that with another kick with the other leg, this time aiming at the changeling’s head.

Frozen grunted as his fist, as massive as it was, SMASHED into Liek's barrier-technique and achieved a grand total of NOTHING. Veins lining his arms bulged in exertion as if he had struck some kind of impenetrable wall, his knuckles bleeding slightly against the impact for all the good it did him! Well, shucks. That didn't work at all. Frozen would pull back his fist as Liek did his barrier, launching a punch which... didn't connect! In fact, if Liek had committed to the attack, he would've been able to tag Frozen handily as he pulled back his punch, but instead committed to a feint!
Going for a kick at Frozen's side, Liek would swing a leg around, one intercepted by Frozen's forearm! The giant changeling actually had to DIG IN his feet so that the sheer impact didn't SWING him to the side, his toes grinding into the icy rock below them and even STILL, he gritted slightly to the side! His eyes shot wide at the sheer power Liek seemed to possess, threatening to overcome his own... and somehow, he didn't even seem serious yet! Frozen lifted his other arm, this time catching the kick before it could STRIKE his face, Frozen's other hand latching onto the leg meant for his side! He would then SWING Liek UP and then DOWN like a hammer and SMASH the boy down hard upon the land, causing a massive circular CRATER at the impact point... assuming he managed to land it! Frozen would then spring up into the air, his red pupils glinting with energy before a volley of thin deep-blue lasers would shoot from them, peppering the entire area where Liek would (theoretically) lay! Like a fighter-jet, he would cover the whole area before hanging back and waiting... watching.
This... was trouble. For as long as he could remember, Frozen had NEVER faced someone who could push him this much this quickly before! Even when at war, when he had to take control of planets by force, Frozen had never needed to ascend past his second form in order to make headway. Everyone merely saw the sheer brute power of his second and realized that he WAS the strongest thing on the field. A bead of sweat ran down Frozen's cheek as his eyes flicked over the area below him.
...It was quite possible that he might be in trouble...

The smile never left the youth’s face as the giant reptilian blocked his kicks, it wasn’t much but he was starting to get a feel for the way the giant of a man moved. That’s what this was to Liek at the moment, a means for the young man to understand how his sparring partner moved and fought, learning through observation. Even from just this exchange he could tell Frozen was confident in his body and had experience in fighting, but Liek felt there was more he could learn from a few more exchanges.
He got his wish, in a sense, when the man caught his leg. Liek let out an involuntary shout of surprise as the man heaved him into the air before slamming the young adult into the frozen ground, leaving a crater behind. If he hadn’t thought to brace for impact at the last moment the hybrid was certain he’d have had the air knocked out of his lungs from the impact, even so it still hurt! But the pain only made his heart race even more with excitement!
Glancing up he saw the giant reptilian taking to the air and sensed the build up of energy. Hazarding a guess at what was coming the young man gasped, “Whoa crap!” before Folding out of the way right as Frozen began the barrage. The explosions tore into the permafrost, kicking up clouds of green dust; orgone dust to be precise.
Reappearing a short distance from the dust cloud from the explosions the youth shouted, “Hope you don’t mind if I respond in kind!” before throwing a pair of spears at the giant! However, as they reached near the location of where Frozen had been floating they both exploded, scattering sharp shrapnel fragments in all directions, whether he was still in that spot or not. While the fragments would be sharp, they where also small, so they may leave shallow cuts, if one got unlucky, or get stuck on armour plates. They where unlikely to cause serious harm should any happen to hit.
If Frozen thought he was in trouble because of the difference in power, there really wasn’t much reason to. There was not a hint of killing intent coming from Liek, if the reptilian could even read such things. He just wanted to see more of what the changeling could do.
