The spotlight will always fall upon the Player Characters, and as such, both Companions and Comrades have several limitations imposed upon them so that the spotlight remains where it should. For those seeking a bit of flare to their stories and spice to the fights however, the NPC Ally system seeks to provide just that.[break][break]
This guide will seek to provide an explanation for the use of each NPC Ally type, as well as the rules that type is bound by. For further information, we invite you to our Discord Server to ask, which can be found through the Quick Navigation at the top right of every page.[break][break]
• If you're looking instead for the NPC Application Templates, click --->Here!<---[break]
• If you're ready to apply for an NPC Ally, then create a thread and feel free to submit your application --->Here!<---[break]
• If you're interested on the price for NPC Allies, click --->Here!<---[break]
Interested in growing your Story?[break]
Do you want a secondary character to RP with or as, but don't want to go out of your way to use up one of your Character Slots to do so?[break]
Then a Companion may be just what you're looking for!![break][break]
Please read these rules for Companions below, and start building your family, your harem, or whatever else you intend![break][break]
• Can freely RP in any thread, independent of the Player Character.[break]
• Can be used freely even if the Player Character is DE Locked![break]
• When used separately from the Player Character, is graded equivocally to a Solo! (Uses weekly Solo WC Allowance)[break]
• Have freely adjustable PL's for thematic purposes! (Must be within the average range of the Player Base)[break]
• Have access to full range of transformations for thematic purposes! (Must be within average range of the Player Base)[break]
• Can be freely exchanged for a new Companion![break]
• Can purchase up to 5 Companion.[break][break]
• Cannot be used for Combat[break]
• If mechanically attacked, are considered Instant KO'd unless defended[break]
• Cannot be used for Absorption purposes[break]
• Cannot be killed by other Players without Player Permission[break]
• Cannot be used for Emotional Triggers[break]
• Cannot be used to Solo a Quest[break][break]
• If killed, can be revived by the Dragonballs, or by a Special Quest (Awarded by the Admins)[break]
• If killed, can no longer be exchanged, but can be refunded at the normal rate[break]
• If Killed, can be used to RP in Otherworld separately from the Player (Does not receive Otherworld Bonuses)[break][break]
• If Player dies, can still be used to RP freely, separate from the Player![break]
• If Player dies, can be used to search for the Dragonballs to revive the Player![break][break]
Need that absorption to get your next transformation but the players are too tough?[break]
Do you see your new transformation on the horizon, right there within reach? Unable to get that player absorption?[break]
Then you should get yourself a Sacrificial Absorption!![break][break]
Please read these rules for Sacrificial Absorption below.[break][break]
• These do not have to be applied for.[break]
• Are ONLY accessible to Bio-Androids and Namekians.[break]
• Are not capable of combat.[break]
• Are not capable of freely roleplaying.[break]
• Can be used for Absorption purposes.[break]
• Must be used in a thread in which the absorption takes place.[break]
• In order to use, the user must meet the PL requirement for NPC absorption.[break]
• These absorptions do NOT provide any additional benefits that a player absorption would.[break]
• There will be NO additional power level gains, techniques acquired or anything similar.[break]
• These simply allow you to get to your next transformation.
[break][break]
• These NPC's must be absorbed in a thread in order for the transformation to be gained, once they are officially absorbed you will immediately have access to your next transformation so long as you have the requirements for an NPC absorption.[break][break]
• These NPC's will use an absorption attempt. As stated above, they will not provide any additional benefits that a player absorption would. They do not provide extra PL, Techniques or anything else special. They are simply there to provide you with a means to reach your next transformation.[break][break]
• These NPC's do not have any type of stats, though they can be attacked by another player purely for flavor. Though they will only be used up upon absorption. Meaning, if another player decided to attack them for whatever reason, they will only expire or 'die' upon absorption. [break][break]
• Though these NPC's must be absorbed in order to fulfill their purpose, it doesn't have to be by the owner. If you decide to bring in this type of NPC to a DE thread in order to get your transformation, another player can make an absorption attempt. So be careful.[break][break]
• The safest way to enjoy this tasty snack, is to absorb them in either a Solo thread on a private thread. In a private thread, ownership of this sacrifice will be respected and only the owner will be allowed to absorb it. Though if the owner givers permission to another player, that player may absorb it.
[break][break]
Combat not complex enough for you?[break]
Do you wish you had a small advantage on the field of battle, even if that advantage came in the form of a little bald guy named Krillin?[break]
Then it looks like you should add some Comrades to your roster!![break][break]
Please read these rules for Comrades below, and get started on creating your elite force to conquer the galaxy![break][break]
• Have a PL Equal to 30% of the Player Character! (Adjusts alongside Player Character's Transformations)[break]
• Are capable of being used in Combat![break]
• Can be used for Absorption purposes![break]
• If absorbed by the player who owns them, the player will not receive power level.[break]
• If a Comrade is owned by an enemy and it is absorbed, regular absorbing rules shall apply.[break]
• Can be used for Emotional Triggers![break]
• Can have up to 15TP for the use of Technique Creation![break]
• Can have up to 1 Racial from the selected Species! (Does not include Dimensional Travel)[break]
• Are considered always in the same thread as the Player Character, even if not mentioned![break]
• Can purchase up to 3 Comrades.[break][break]
• Cannot create Ultimate Techniques[break]
• Cannot learn Master Techniques in any manner[break]
• Cannot use Comrade TP for any other use than Comrade Technique Creation[break]
• Cannot be used in threads separately from the Player Character[break]
• Cannot be used for the purpose of completing Solo's of any kind, including Quests[break]
• Can be killed in DE's if targeted by other Players without Player Permission[break]
• Cannot be purchase or hold items of their own or in place of the Player Character[break]
• Cannot be exchanged freely for a new Comrade, must be refunded[break][break]
• When in Combat, is capable of 1 Minor and 1 Major Action[break]
• When in Combat, the Comrade is capable of Defending the Player Character without the use of an Action[break]
• When in Combat, the Player Character is capable of Defending the Comrade without the use of an Action[break]
• When in Combat, can be healed of detriments at the expense of 1 Major Action spent by the Player[break]
• When in Combat, if KO'd but not killed, cannot be resuscitated by any means, and will remain KO'd for the remainder of the Thread [break][break]
• If killed, can only be revived by the Dragonballs[break]
• If killed, refund amount becomes half of the already reduced amount[break]
• If killed, cannot be utilized in RP at all unless the Player Character does so in Otherworld (Does not receive Otherworld Bonuses)[break][break]
• If Player dies, may continue battling in the thread the Player died in.[break]
• If Player dies, may still not participate in threads separately from the Player.[break]
• If Player dies, may only be used in Otherworld alongside the Player if they are also killed, or are of a Race that can traverse between both realms freely.[break]
• If Player dies, cannot be used to search for the Dragonballs to revive the Player.[break][break]
To conclude this guide, here's an explanation on further ways this system functions, as well as rules not explicitly stated under either NPC type![break][break]
As stated at the beginning of this guide, the spotlight is meant to always be held over the Player Character. This system is designed to allow additional combat variance and flavor to RP, but is not meant to be a replacement for Player Characters.[break]
While Companions are allowed incredible RP freedom, they are still not your Player Character, and as such, have considerable limitations in place towards their overall gains and mechanical capabilities.[break]
To add, Comrades on the other hand give incredible combat utility, but as such, are limited significantly in their RP freedom. As well, while their combat effectiveness may not reach the standard of a player, understand that as mentioned, this is because they are NOT a Player Character, but rather, are akin to a versatile Combat Item.[break][break]
• Both NPC Types my be purchased, up to the amount of each type allowed. (5 Companions, 3 Comrades)[break]
• You may not replace 1 NPC Type for another. (ie - No having 4 Companions, 4 Comrades)[break]
• NPC Types may be converted into the opposite type, however this may only be done once and is irreversible.[break]
• If converted, the NPC must then abide by the rules of the type it has become.[break]
• If converting a Companion to a Comrade, the difference in price MUST be paid.[break]
• If converting a Comrade to a Companion, the difference will not be refunded, so do so at your own understanding and risk.[break][break]
• You are allowed to bring all allies into a thread with you, so long as they abide by their respective NPC rule set.[break]
• You are not to post separately/multiple times when RPing as your NPC in a thread, you are to do so within a single post.[break][break]
• In the event of NPC Death, NPC's may revive at double the time required for Player Characters. You may Flavor this however you see fit. (ie. 1 Month for Players = 2 Months for NPC's)[break]
• In the event of Player Death, should you have at least 1 Companion and 1 Comrade still alive, the Comrade may be used in threads with the Companion. However, both are still bound by their respective rule set in the event another Player attacks your NPC Allies.[break][break]
• All rules and uses stated throughout this guide are subject to change for balance purposes without notice. In the event of a change considered Major, Players may refund their NPC Ally for 100% of the purchase Price. The severity of what is considered a Major change to the system is left to the discretion of the Admins and is non-negotiable.[break]
